Maybe because possible later revisions to the engine would allow for larger/stiffer springs...meaning more flow or a cammed+ setup, possibly a higher hp NA engine down the road?

My first thought was the longer stem might put the rocker at a better position to handle high rpm use without falling out. I really wish we could find out more about this.

I forgot we have a potential rocker problem.. that does make sense but shouldnt it mean we can put the longer stems in the 13 motors?

I am also interested in why the stems are longer... Different rocker arms used as well?

The common valvetrain problem in the MY 13 was the AVCS failure. Only until element tuning built the motor did they uncover the rocker flaw. I kind of think some subaru engineers lerk on this forum without profiles so they catch what other shops do pushing the envelop on.

Are the valve guides that GSC Power-Division offers stronger than the oem ones?
I am lately having excessive wear on my oem valve guides, just after 20k km on my motor

Just a FYI its not a priority for them I spoke to them in January they said maybe October they would try and work on the cams.
could be pushed out farther though.

At least they are on the planning for R&D
