See, that's the way it should be. On Subarus, when you turn the car off, the car is OFF. The 12v ports, headlights, everything turns off. I'm a little miffed that on the BRZ the headlights stay on when the car is turned off. What part of OFF is confusing to Toyota?

Though I wonder if the timer is on the regular lights. I'll have to experiment with leaving them on... |

My mom's Camry turns off auto headlights after 30-60sec, never actually sat there and timed it.
My Audi gives you the option to choose exactly how long the lights stay on when you shut the car off. Necessary? Not really. Cool? A little.

Half the time I don't even remember/bother to turn the headlights off in my WRX. I just look down halfway through my commute the next morning and think "Why are my headlights on?". |

My car has the "auto" feature. I choose to turn my lights on and off every day. Just like turning the key. Part of the motoring experience. |

I tried the double-lock button thing mentioned earlier and it didn't work. I'll try to remember to test if the lights turn of automatically tonight. |
