Requirement for coilovers/camber plates with larger wheel/tire?
2013 FRS - I am putting 18x9.5 +38 wheels on the car and want to go with 265 width tires. Are coilovers and camber plates a requirement? All I am looking for is to install these wheels and lower 1". There are too many options for coilovers for me to decide. I don't track the car. It's just a daily driver. Thanks.

You will need coilovers, otherwise your wheels/tires can hit the spring perches.

17x9 with 245/40 is a much better choice for DD.

Not necessary unless you want to add negative camber. A lot of coilovers come with camber plates already if you need them (but beware, these almost all use pillow ball mounts and will clunk/creak eventually)
Absolutely necessary if you want total control over your front camber though, really.
