Never posted a pic of the best mm pistol... here it is with new tritium sights & enhanced/AC modded stock grip module in FDE:

Shoots every bit as good as the HK USP Expert in .40S&W I use to have did... like it very much.

I've also built my first AR this month... went with an Aero complete upper (16" barrel) & lower M5 setup and changed things as I wanted it. For upper added the Precision Armament EFAB, Strike Industries Ultimate dust cover & LINK Cobra foregrip, Tool Steel Nickel-boron BCG, and Aero Breach ambi CH. For lower went with Blackout Defense Zero Hybrid AR10 trigger, MPA EVG grip, Magpul MOE SL stock, Norgon ambi heavy mag release, Strike Industries Enhanced bolt catch/release, Magpul 25rd P-mags/Duramag SS 20rd magazines, and tactical Brass recovery brass catcher. Optics wise am trying out the Primary Arms SL-x 3X prism sight and have a PARD 008P NV scope. Looking to add better IR illuminator than built in one and really like what I see on the 3EIR DesignateIR-V... but not wanting to spend that kind of money.

Please post your thoughts on this after you run it. I have heard they are decent and it is kind of hard to ignore the price.

Will do. Originally got it to run on an M1A, but no matter what I tried there wasn't enough eye relief for it to work with the Sadlak rail. Was about ready to get rid of the M1A (Aero M5 was done as its replacement) but just yesterday got in something I ordered last year which wasn't sure would get but took chance on. Package was the Blackfeather RS chassis system, so since I finally got it will at least build up the M1A and see if I feel like keeping it when it's about as good as you can do for accurizing and better fitting the M1A. Just ordered stock (MDT SCS) and pistol grip (MPA EVG of course!) for the chassis. This is what sold me on the Blackfeather RS & MDT SCS for a standard M1A:

The M1A is fun to shoot, but bugs me with its stock ergonomics and how it's close to the aim point but still varying all over the place when trying to zero on a 12" plate at 150 yards. My Marlin 30AS absolutely outshoots it no problem free standing or kneeling at 150 yards with iron sight setup...nails the plate almost every single time. With the M1A am prone on ground while supporting/stabilizing it as much as possible and using a 1-4X Hawke Endurance LPVO it simply won't zero well at all, constantly shifting around chasing a zero. Using the iron sights seems a little better but still pretty inconsistant. If it won't consistently hold a zero with the Blackfeather RS chassis system then it will be gone. Want to run a red-dot with magnification if it can prove consistant.

Since AR-15's were recently deemed prohibited (for now) in Canada, there aren't very many AR type options for us to choose from.

We're presently moving closer towards laws that will ban them based on looks and not function... all black rifles are SCARY don'tcha know.

Some Canadian companies have gotten creative with their designs to get around our silly laws.

I present the Crusader Arms Templar in 5.56NATO. An AR180 based rifle design, that takes most AR15 parts, but is not compatible with AR15 uppers or lowers. The manufacturer did this by moving the takedown pins ~1-2mm further apart. It's also non-restricted, so we are free to take this into the forest and plink!

Topped with a Holosun 510C for general use, and I also have a Primary Arms 1-6x FFP LPVO for longer range activities.

Many Canadian AR180 designs have been plagued with QC and reliability issues (Look up the WK180, WS-MCR, BCL Siberian to name a few...) but CA seems to have done something right here and the Templars are holding up well for people. I've put about 300 rounds through mine, and it's been a joy.

Now if only .223/5.56 wasn't $0.70+/rd here right now

It did down here too, but came back down. It's not .20-23/round like it was but it is still not that bad. It's running around .40/rd on average right now. I get email notifications all the time on ammo and I only buy when I get a deal.

OMG lol.

Best I was able to get here was $4.49 CAD/50... so I bought a case of 5000. I don't think it will be going back down anytime soon.

Always been a bit pricier up here... but sheesh.

Honestly, the thing I like most about firearms is I find them mechanically interesting.

That, and they are fun to shoot, even though I don't own any guns, nor have I been shooting in over a decade. It is fun to be destructive and shoot things up in games like MW2, which I had devoted far too much time to in my late twenties. It is a sport to shoot well. They look cool whether we are talking about a buttery looking revolver, a vintage double barreled shotgun or a fully decked out assault-style rifle. Few people don't enjoy a good Matrix, western/Tombstone or John Wick movie. As someone with a proclivity towards anything mechanical/engineering, I can respect what goes into a firearm. With that said, there is something less sexy about an Apple Watch, BEV or a railgun compared to a Grand Seiko, ICE or a traditional firearm.
