Clutch spring removal
Has anyone removed the spring on the clutch pedal. Its there to make the clutch easier to depress. I dont like the feel and would like to remove it or put in a weaker spring. The LHD guys in the US say you can do it in 15 minutes. Not in a RHD car. HELP Sandy in Nelson NZ

Did you see this already?
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=84622 I can't imagine it beings that much different from LHD to RHD, but then again I've never been in a RHD 86. |

It can be done no real problem, it's not as easy as LHD drive looks to be but definitely do-able, start with removing actuating from pedal by taking the pin from the clevis, this gives you a bit more room to move.
Push the rod from the spring, it's tight but can be done, then lever the spring out. I totally recommend this mod, best thing I've done. |

Not being a quitter I had another go at it.My back will be better in a few days. I got my 100 k body in far enough to see the clip.Pulling it out would have to be done with your left hand . I am right handed and cant scratch my ass with my left hand. Guess I will be looking for a small left handed wrench operator. Cheers Sandy
