Sean's Ricemobile
So, I've done the mods game. Add parts, create squeaks, maintenence problems, and issues later down the road. I find that changing things too much off the original stock balance and you end up creating a car thats beyond not only your capability but also beyond your comfort zone. So I plan to live with the engine and suspension for a good long time. It's plenty fast enough for a daily driver/commuter and occasional open track car. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to spend any money on it doing cool things, especially for a car that has so many great aftermarket options. So by the strict definitition where it's all show mods vs. all go mods, this is the prior, which when I had a japanese import in 2000, meant it was rice, and I'm okay with that.
So here's the build so far. Always wanted carbon fiber, it's so technological and elegant. Finally I'm in a place in my life where I can afford it, and its readily available for a car I own. It was the first set of buys I did for myself on Black Friday. Seibon CF Hook and Trunk: You can see the fit is *close* but not perfect. It's enough that it's tolerable, if you had it for a show, it would be off by enough to be a non-winning fit. For my use it's "good enough". Next up was the clear side marker, which I tinted as soon as I could, they were much to bright on a black car. Next three pieces were a little smaller: Got a bigger antenna, bucking the trend of smaller, I'd prefer better reception than worse, it's basically a Pepboy's universal, I had to however trim down the adapter screw. Then I did a Alcantara dash, which is only half done so far: And the Euro "armrest" which I'd rather prefer to call a center console cover, thanks to Toyota Sheffield for shipping it to California, it's a brilliant fit, highly recommended: There's no good pictures of the Blackview "dashcam", but I got the dual camera version with GPS included, it's pricy, but I expect it to pay for itself in entertainment value, as well as first time someone crashes into me. http://www.blackvue.com/en/contents/sub1.asp?idx=17 http://amzn.com/B00DRE8AWG Last week I dropped the car off for a vinyl wrap, here's the pics I got from the installer: Last edited by SeanBlader; 01-13-2014 at 10:54 AM. Included in the vinyl, was the sidemarkers you saw above. They did a better job than I did, very professional and sharp. Here's the rest of the pics of a now orange/black BRZ:
On the right there is a Model S, going gloss gray, with orange logos. It was pretty impressive and getting rid of the chrome on the car makes it look so much better. Also you can see the extra $80 I spent to get the tails lightly tinted, well worth it, and I really like the stock taillights. Here's more from outside: And a few more closeups from inside my garage: All in all, that orange stands out so much! It's amazing. I'm not quite to the point where I believe I can afford to have something so epic done to my car. It's definitely going to be the most memorable car I've ever owned. Happy Halloween, already?! jk, Sean it looks really good.
A while back when I saw the Zele car in orange I knew it was a good color to go with for this car, in fact I even painted my FR-S in GT5 that color. LOL here's looking at you.
