You've never seen the first Dune movie because it was never shot. However, a lot of the ground work for the movie we got came from this unfinished version. Plus, it gave us so much more that was used in later movies.
You need to read/see/watch/research Jodorowsky's Dune.
Imagine Orson Wells, Mick Jagger, David Carradine and Salvador Dali in the starring roles. How about music by Pink Floyd and art by H.R.Giger?
Check out YouTube and other sources for the complete documentary.

I tried to read Dune at one point. I got the first chapter in and didn't like it.

You ever see 'The Lost Highway?' I love that movie. Also the soundtrack is epic. Best Smashing Pumpkins song 'Eye' is on there that most people don't even know about.

Lived in this apartment for 8 years and never had an ant problem... until now. They've been in my bathroom most of the day. Cleaned it down the best I could, again, during work and sprinkled a bunch of borax on the floor near where the ants were going. For some reason there's still a few on the toilet porcelain every time I come back in to check on things.

DAMN, spike021, get down to the store and buy some ant poison - TONIGHT - before you go to bed! Ever heard of "brain eating" ants? - After you are asleep they make their way through your ear canal by spewing a anesthetic ahead of them so you can't feel them. Then the whole colony enters and excises and carries off bits of your brain. It has been reported that an active and healthy colony can eat away 1/3 of a humans brain overnight.

Mmmm.... I feed the local ants both outside and in the kitchen. Bits of chicken, dog food meat, sugar saturated water.

Admittedly, I thought the Dune books went way off tangent after Children of Dune. I read that the death of Herbert's wife sent him into grief that he never recovered from and his writing went......weird.

I ordered ant poison but it won't arrive till Friday.

I'd have gone out tonight or tomorrow but I'm on-call for work so I need to be available in case of issues.

I just need to hope the effort I've put in already will help prevent them from intruding further into the apartment.

I'd suggest you contact the apartment manager and tell him that HE has an ant problem.

Meanwhile, not to worry, they are small and they don't each much -

Yeah they are small but I'm impressed at how quickly, once a food source has been discovered, they will devour a serving.
These are screen shots from a time lapse movie I created. Yeah, it wasn't very good with terrible depth of field and if I could be bothered doing it again I would do things differently. It took 20 minutes from start to finish.

Get a cat. I've had one cat or another since I moved into my first apartment. For a long time I thought I never had a bug problem despite living in some rather sketchy areas. Turns out the cats weren't as fat as they were because of what I was feeding them.

So today my noisy neighbors actually had someone come in who looked like an exterminator (guy was wearing one of those backpack/hose sprayer rigs). I'm almost positive they're not allowed because my apartment manager absolutely hates the idea of tenants doing any maintenance type stuff themselves or having outside people come in for it. Oh well.

I'm guessing maybe my next door neighbor had the actual issue and maybe the ants I had came from there.

I counted 0 ants in my bathroom today, and that was before the exterminator guy was even here.

Ant poison spray is good, but if you want a non to toxic method. Use something with diatomaceous earth. The ants carry it back to the nest and the small particles get into the exoskeleton.
