A cry for help - front suspension issue

Whats going on everyone. Im having an issue with the front end of my car in that the coilovers are not wanting to act/react normal and I need some help figuring this out.

Somewhere along the way my front end has developed an aggressive bounce that I haven't for the life of me been able to figure out or solve. Pushing down on the rear of the car with the coilover damping set to the softest setting gives me the rebound reaction one would expect, but pushing down on the fronts it stays absolutely stiff!

So far I:

-Took my front coilovers apart, made sure the shocks traveled freely+without any noise or friction and re-assembled everything to Teins measurements and torque specs. Felt a hair better but nothing to solve my overall front end stiffness.

-Undid the 2mm of pre-load that Teins manual suggests in an attempt to soften the front up. Again, felt a hair better but the front is still immobile.

-Loosened the three lower control arm nuts/bolts, jacked the control arm up to where the hub would be positioned if the car was on the ground and torqued the three spots to factory specs. Did absolutely nothing for the fronts stiffness.

In performing that last procedure of jacking the control arm up to its driving position I noticed that the car wanted to come off the jackstands as if the shock had hit its limit/floor and wanted to take the car up with it instead of sink and absorb that upward pressure from the jack.

I'm very much confused, frustrated and especially desperate to figure out what it is that's going on here. One of the best parts of these cars is how well they ride/handle/corner and needless to say right now im not enjoying any of that.

Any leads or comments would greatly be appreciated! Thanks

I see a mention of Tein- what model of Tein coilovers did you buy, exactly?

Those should be similar to stock stiffness from what I've heard in the past.
Any upgrades to your bushings up front? What tires/pressures are you running? What is your right height set at?

The bushings are untouched, im running Falken Azenis up front, Yokohama Neova AD08R's in the back at factory air pressure levels and the ride height is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches lower with a few mm left of adjustment space between the lowest and middle collars.

The sidewalls on the RT615K are super strong- swap your wheels front to back as an experiment to see how the car feels

How low are you running? Could you be on the front bump stops?

Tein lists the rate at 8k/9k, 448/504 which reads like a big increase over stock to me.
With the 7k springs fitted to the front of my car I can't get any movement out of the front when trying to bounce the car by pushing on the strut tower. (I weigh 70kgs.)

Damn, I thought it was more like 5k. Makes a lot of sense!

you installed springs that are >2x as stiff as the factory stuff. it's going to move a lot less when you lean on it. By the time you jump on the front end hard enough to see the body move, you're going to start bending sheet metal.
go for a drive and see how the car feels once you leave the driveway.
... and consider raising the car. if you're 2" lower than stock, you're going to be tearing up axles and other stuff very quickly. plus they don't handle well that low without other supporting mods since you just put the car's roll center below ground.

The reason I can say theres something wrong is because there WAS a point where this car drove and felt proper. Where I could push down on the front end and get a response when the damping is at its softest setting. My car has been at this height and handling well for years without mauling any components, Im just trying to figure out why the shock isnt traveling properly.

In that case, pull the shock off the car again and remove the spring. try to compress the shock by hand and see what happens.. with it on its softest setting, it should take a couple seconds with your body weight on it to compress the shock. change to stiffest setting and repeat- it should take longer than on softest setting. obviously real numbers and measurements are impossible like this, but it's a start.

it could be that the shock itself is frozen or bent.

if the shock does compress, does it go all the way down, or stop before it gets there? I've had some adjustable Koni shocks come apart internally before (from installing top hat with an impact and it knocks the internal screws loose), and all the valving bits kinda explode and take up extra room in the bottom, preventing the shock from compressing fully.

reset your dampers to the EXACT specs provided by Tein.

Rebuild the dampers if theyre old.
