Seems like everybody likes the DW65C so just ordered one... fuel pump died for a unknown reason... Im asssuming it did not like running all the time wired to a relay on switched key but I dont want to deal with it being ECU controlled so I think this new pump will work well and be able to feed a low boost turbo too

I have dual DW300c. One is on a Hobbs switch and relay for anything over 5psi, and the other is wired into the stock harness bypassing the fuel pump ECU.

It's cool to see a nonstandard and "easy" swap like this. I'm interested, given the relatively low output (~250HP and ~220 ft/lbs) for a 3.0L, which is not much over the FA20, what's your target for power on this swap? Are you looking at top end mods?

The engine power on paper may not seem like a big jump but it has a significant difference in overall feel with more low end power plus the swap was to be honnest a side from lots of wiring and headaches exhaust manifold very easy swap also budget and sounds are huge pros

I plan on a low boost turbo 300HP and 300 torque reliable too is more than enough .. If not enough than maybe forging the engine and going full blown like mighty car mods did with his levrog.... the EZ30 is a very underated engine

^^this^^ Excited for you. I would do the same for reliable torque, and gorgeous sound from a path of least resistance. Bravo!

Don't get me wrong. I'm starting to think about a swap myself, and power and torque figures are pretty far down the list of concerns. While I, too, feel the allure of an "easy" swap, the EJ30 just doesn't feel exciting to me - the same as any other Subaru boxer engines. The revs are there, the sound isn't there, the excitement isn't there.

A lot of folks do swaps for the power. So if it's not the ultimate power capabilities of the EZ30 you're after, what is it? What drove your choice?

What drove me was all the pros I listed in the thread and I love the fact my subaru BRZ is a true and true subaru keep the handling... keep its soul you know what I mean plus toppled with the H6 amazing sound....it sounds like a porsche if that doesnt get you excited than maybe not engine for you.

Its not always about max HP and torque... I built some monsters in the past that was not even close as fun driving as the BRZ is.

Coming from a BMW world I build some great swaps... even did a Twincharged BMW E30... so its the fun factor for me now not after numbers

Great build. Any notes on what you did with the adjustable resistance on the power steering assist?

Any more updates on the swap?

I am committing to the nations first EZ30R swap in a Subaru BRZ for road race competition in the USA. I have yet to see any 86's in the US run an EZ30/36 for hill climb, road racing, drag racing, auto x or any racing for that matter.

I compete in NASA TT5/ST5 with my 2015 BRZ and plan to make this a well sorted machine to max out class. (I will make a thread soon in regards to the swap)

My FA20 is sold and the EZ30R is inbound to my location. Cheers!
