After consulting with a highly reputable mechanic, I've decided to get my C38 warrantied and hopefully replaced with a less noisy unit.

Do you guys think I should ask for a C32 unit as they are known to make no noise? If so, would my current flex fuel tune work on a C32 or would I have to get that done again?

Do you mean c30? I say if you aren't running a smaller pulley go for it.

I also had an issue with the CCV side fouling my MAF sensor and installed a CCV CC at Zach's recommendation. I have the Radium CCV oil can on the driver's side, PCV can on the passenger's side. Routing the PCV and CCV pickups to a single collector can turn into a whole bag of fuckery with check valves and tricky routings to ensure the airflow is going in the right direction and flowing properly when all the various hoses are in vacuum or are pressurized. Two separate cans is the way to go because it keeps things functionally simple; each can does one job.

Bingo.

Had my mechanic take off the Rotrex to return for warranty and he's found the problem.

The impeller had been scratching the housing every rotation. Now multiply that by however many RPM and you have the crickets in my video.

Hopefully this guarantees my warranty and helps some other people with the cricket noises.

First start on my C38. I don’t think this sound is normal from everything I have read…supposedly the Rotrex is really quiet. I installed everything by the book and primed the Rotrex as instructed. Any ideas/advice?

How do I loosen up the belt? To get the belt on I just rotated down the belt tensioner and then it popped back up into position

Yes I do, sorry I've been out of town, I'll take a photo. It was just some 2024-T3 aluminum that i sprayed with black primer. The only quirky thing was getting the angles right so it rested flat, but in hindsight, bending a couple steel L-brackets could do the job just as well.

Thanks, nice set up. I ended up keeping the oil reservoir in the recommended place but moving the CCV catch can by attaching it to the intake manifold

How many of you have belt slippage with the smaller pulley on the C30? The smaller pulley has less contact area.

What is the consensus on belts? I just ate one today in autocross and wondering if there are better brands to replace it with.

The provided Gates belt should be enough.

Check your pulleys for play and/or wear if you're losing belts.

I just got a gates belt, I wasn't sure if there were better belts than ones designed for 25 year old vans. I think my issue was just hitting limiter and shocking the belt. I have video of it and i hit limiter and then pieces of the belt exit my hood vents. I'm guessing it skipped and chewed the outter rib off from the shock.

The shock of slamming into your limiter can definitely caused the belt to skip, as the tensioner won't be able to keep up with that.

It's also really, really unhealthy for the supercharger's main shaft, so do try to avoid hitting the limiter!
