Help!! Tires!

Yes another tire info thread. Heads up I know almost nothing about tires.

My 2015 frs needs new tires.
Currently fully stock with 215/45R17 Michelin tires

I'm in Portland Oregon and I'm looking for something that works well with wet winter's. Occasional ice/snow. Its my DD but I love taking it out on back roads and turn off the traction.

I have a friend who is offering wholesale price on any nokian tires with no warranty or returns but the price is really attractive. Any experience with nokian?

Nokian would be overkill. Go for the Pirelli Sottozeros or a similar "winter-lite" tire. If they make them in 17" that is

Are you looking for a dedicated winter season tire or one tire for everything?

The new pilot sport all season 4 is a good all arounder.

For mild snow sottozeros or alpin pa4 are good for winter conditions. The nokain winters assuming they're nokian hakkapeliitta are more than capable for snow, but aren't the best for dry/wet.

They are the perfect year round tire for your area.

Exactly why are the Nokians so cheap and no warranty or return? How good a friend? Depending on what version they may be a good tire but I have to wonder the backstory on the sales conditions!

He's a good guy at least has been to me for the last ten years. Hes a truck driver that transports tires here in NW. He's quoting me at $60 /tire for nokian entyre 2.0. Good price? If not, I'll just go pay extra for the warranty and what not. I just want to be able to enjoy the roads in my FRS. Its so damn fun I want to make sure I get something that will allow me to continue enjoying it

Fell off the back of the truck? I guess it's hard to claim warranty on stolen goods...

That's an... Absolute steal of a deal.

I would say if you are after a all season that keeps the fun to drive nature go with the Michelin all season. Wrong tire choice can ruin the sporty playfulness of the car.

I hear nothing but good things from Nokian tires in general from a big Canadian distributor of theirs. I just don't think they're nessesarily the right tire for this car.
