Black Chromed Accents and Emblems for SWP

I'm thinking about making the chrome accents and the SUBARU and BRZ emblems in the back, black chrome for my SWP BRZ. I've been looking at using Dupli-color: Shadow. Anyone else have any suggestions or opinions? Thanks!

Something along the lines of these, may be just a little bit lighter =] If I had some photoshop editing skills I'd try and make a render.

I posted in the Club Lexus thread (same user name) a long time ago when I had my Es300.

I have used the duplicolor smoke chrome paint on my chrome Lexus emblems. It is basically a charcoal color mixed with clear - heavy coats will just make the emblem look like a dark charcoal color. My emblems lasted for a few months before they started to crack and chip off.

The OEM black chrome plated emblems have a different, more noticeable appearance - much more reflective, like crystal.

I don't think these emblems are available in black chrome - so if you care about a high quality, legitimate black chrome plated emblem, there are a few shops in SoCal that will black chrome plate the emblems for you.

Here's a shop I found w/ approximate price lists. Looks like it will cost about $50-100

That shop does chrome plating for metal. Its a different process for these plastic emblems. Its just a reflective coating that is not applied like real chrome. Someone here did Black Chrome Emblems...can't remember who though.

Edit: Found the PM.. @20valvewynn83 had his done. You can PM him about it or see his thread. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16714

You can get them already made from http://www.nengun.com/grazio/toyota-emblem-set
