What if I'm not interested in drifting?

I'm interested in this car because of how simple it is. I would use it as my main car because I don't drive too often (to the store, to the cottage, etc.) and I would like a car for fun rather than for long journeys. I'm used to a mechanical cars with a manual (I own an older Impreza and Lancer) and I like them. Obviously, it looks easy to drift with BRZ, but I like when the car stays straight on the road.

How well does the car sit on the road?
Is it also suitable for someone who is not interested in drifting?

I've had a fun time with it so far! I use it as my main car and I LOVE driving it. I dont know how to drift and may learn later on, but im just enjoying the fun of how it handles. Sits low and turns on a dime. Great gas mileage on the highway. I'm not a car person at all but I plan on learning a lot more because of this machine.

Nope. It is a drift only car.

.0001% of BRZ owners don't drift their cars. It would put you in the very slim minority, but it is possible to drive without drifting.

Does that mean it can be stable? I've experienced a lot of car and I think I can handle problematic situations but I wouldn't like to have to fight the car every time so it doesn't end up in a tree. However from the reviews it appears that the car was created primarily for drifting.

I wouldn't say that I will never drift (in enclosed spaces) but in normal traffic I would like to avoid it.

I've only had it a week, but driven it through rain at relatively high speeds and it responds great! Very agile without having to fight it

Before this gets completely out of hand, because it will, we are messing with you. Drifters are a minority in any car community, you can drive this car as gently as a Corolla if you want.

I'm glad you said something because I was starting to worry that I wasn't adventurous enough to own this car

It drifts quite easily on oem tires, it's scary in some situations, especially in the cold. I took them off after a week. It still drifted quite easily, albeit controllably, with 18x8.5 wheels and 225 section tires. Ever since I went 18x9.5 with 255 (or 265?) section tires, it just grips. No more drifting

If you've just 3 friends and 2 of them had their legs amputated, it's the car for you, but if you've more than 1 friend with legs, or you're a fervent supporter of polygamy, this car may not be for you.

Have you been watching too many YouTube videos?

There is no “drift mode” on this car.
Thats a “drivers mode” only activated intentionally.

Drifting on the street around my area gets you some drift tax in the way of fines so by same reasoning that would make a drift car illegal.

You like the car? Pick a color and its surprisingly practical and fun to drive compared to the other bland cars out there.

I'll respond to this seriously: The BRZ will drive like any other car on the road as long as all the electronic aides are not turned off. If you just drive in regular traffic, then there is no need to worry.

Also, not sure where you're getting that the BRZ (and the 86 for that matter) was created primarily for drifting. It was built as a fun car, yes, but it's not limited to just drifting.

As far as I know there is - at least that "Pull the emergency brake three times" thingy.

I have only imaginary friends and they seems to be ok with that space. Not sure how this can affect cars grip.

Thank you for your response. I have never spent more than 5 kilometers in RWD car nor the sport one. Almost every video which I've seen (in my language) is like "this car is for the real drifters" so I am worried that after I'm used to driving Impreza for years this will be very unstable in comparison to it.
