You may be right, but I was referring to the Corsa system. Sorry if I was vague on that.

No not at all, not at all. I mention the stock midpipe because, in my mind, if there is clearance for the large stock resonator it's hard to imagine that a 6x10 muffler will have worse clearance. Though, I cannot say I've seen how the Corsa exhaust has the mid-pipe positioned in relation to the rest of the catback, or if the Corsa exhaust simply hangs lower than the stock catback.

I've been running mine with the stock front pipe and q300 for a while now and love it. Its not that loud even WOT at 2500-3500.
The brap that it had with the invidia resonated fp is pretty much all gone. Nice smooth sound now much like what i was looking for.

Stock mid pipe resonator is bottle style cylindrical resonator about 4" diameter and maybe 24" long.

^hmmm apparently I'm remembering a totally difference piece... Are you sure it's only 4" diameter? I have a 4" resonator I used to fabricate a front pipe with, and it is much smaller in diameter than the factory mid pipe resonator... IF I remembered correctly. I guess I will measure for myself once I get back home from the SEMA show.

Just look at the image. The midpipe diam is 2.25". The resonator is about twice that diameter roughly by looking at the image. So 4-5" or so.

Since my exhaust is sitting on the warehouse floor. Just measured. 25" long. 4" diameter.

^ I've worked on too many damn exhaust... I don't recall which mid-pipe I was describing earlier. My mistake. lol

I suppose another possible solution is to lop off the stock resonator and reuse it, or to just get a axle back at the cost of having a bit less exhaust flow. Worth doing for N/A application for noise reduction, IMO, and will not have the tin-can sound of the stock muffler. For you guys with blowers the penalty in terms of power output of a less free-flowing exhaust will obviously be more.

I received a replacement front pipe yesterday. The original one had the core of the cat come loose. The core would slide about one centimeter fore and aft within the cat shell. There was some rasp and lots of volume. The rasp is reduced almost completely with the new front pipe, and the volume has been reduced a little. The good news is that I can now leave from a stop and keep up with other traffic at a somewhat reasonable volume level. It is loud WOT from 2000 RPMs, and loud above 4000 no matter what. Hopefully this volume doesn't return with another cat core coming loose. I'm still really interested in the quiet high flow system that Ace has been working on. I hope it becomes available. I really do like the sound this header produces though. I just wanted to update this thread

So I finally got an updated tune to reflect the new header (SEMA slowed things down a bit for me), and believe it or not the tune quieted things down some more. Not sure how or why, but wahoo! All I can say about the header is wow! The midrange is ALIVE! With the stock header and the Jackson racing super charger, there was a massive surge in power from about 4500 RPMs. Now, the surge is softened because the power from about 3000 RPMs is noticeably greater. Now on a WOT pull, things are exciting from 3000 RPMs all the way to redline. This header has subtly transformed this car into a quicker beast. I really discovered that when I was rolling at about 3000 RPMs in first gear, floored the throttle and the tires broke loose immediately. My car would never ever have done that before this header, even with the supercharger. It was about 50 degrees F outside on 245/40 17 Dunlop zII's. Like I said, pre-header, my car didn't really wake up until above 4000 RPMs. It was quicker everywhere with the supercharger, but was very tame below 4000. Now, it doesn't have such a dramatic transition from sluggish to powerful, it just pulls like a beast much, much earlier in the RPM range. Wow! Very surprised with the results, and very happy!

Hi All,

We have not been on this thread as of yet because we have not wanted to announce our specific tune for the Ace 4-2-1 Headers. We have been dialing it in on the street for a few months and are now planning to finalize the tune this week at Mann Engineering in San Jose, CA.

The dyno cell they have allows for some extreme testing and tuning. Their AWD MAHA dyno allows for extremely precise and refined tuning, in turn allowing for pin point power increases across the power range while maintaining a repeatable and reliable tune.

Just to give you an idea of what sort of testing we do for our tunes and what to expect from the Ace Headers check out these videos.

Is there any update on the FedEx custom charge that I received? I haven't heard back from you guys on this and I just received an over due bill from FedEx again this weekend for $19.50. Let me know the status if you could please. I might just pay if off next week so I don't get any more fees (or fines if that happens). Let me know thanks.
