Wow, looks great. Few weeks ago I scoured Autotrader to see what might be available out there and probably saw this car (exactly what I'm looking for.) There were a couple in NC/SC/TN area. I came pretty close to reaching out but decided to chill instead.. hope I don't regret it!

Shhtuff just got real

Got a call from the dealership, car arrives tomorrow (last I heard was "Valentine's, maybe").

Probably driving up to get it on Saturday, after the worst of the winter storm. That means BFG Comp2 A/S+ need to get bought and taken along for the ride to get mounted for the drive home. I'm not spending 2 hours on a highway in freezing temps on summer tires in a brand-new car.

I don’t know how this all works but my assumption is that for your area and mine the cars should be on the same train possibly? What is your ETA set at?

Still waiting for my Neptune base 6mt in the sf bay area. I have my name and should be first at three dealers in the area. Anybody have any leads? Or any idea when the next wave of bay area allocations are being released?

There's a production freeze and no new allocations on the horizon. Hunker down it's gonna be a bit of a wait.

What's the source of this information?
I've heard about the production freeze on the Toyota factory, but this isn't where GR86's are made.

They have not stopped building them. What happened was Subaru stopped taking customer custom orders because those slots had already been filled. Toyota didn't take custom orders so there was no impact to their production.

So, basically, what you can get moving forward is a car allocated to a dealer, but not a specific build from the factory.

Ironically, this forum was the source of the original information, but that was later confirmed through Subaru. Here's an article on Motor1, but other sites basically echo the same details.

One thing I missed: it was announced Jan 27 that the Gunma plant that builds BRZ and GR86 would be idled for 6 random-ish days right around now. Parts shortages. So that kicks everything out a week.

Don't get much more official than that!
There have been rolling shutdowns for pretty much every automotive manufacturing company.
There are also huge shipping and trucking issues right now so even the ones that are built may have long delays until delivered.
All these things are expected to last another year yet.
So whatever "used" to happen is no longer the norm.
Welcome to the world of the 2020s!
