Just saw this thread again and realized I hadn't posted in a while. Here are some pics I snapped tonight at the Dodger's NL West clinch.

..and I'm guilty of this too but..

We should seriously consider changing the title of this thread from "photographer's thread" to "software edited photo thread".

Seems rare that good picture is ever "natively" taken nowadays, everything touched up, like women in LA. They look good, but are they real?

What I've submitted are touched up as well but I'm trying to get to the point that I can shoot the right shot natively.

To be fair, i'd say 90%, or more, of the stuff you can do in Lightroom/Photoshop could be done (and was done) in the darkroom before digital came about. A great photographer still needs a digital darkroom to processes their shots.

Touching up a photo doesn't make it less of a photographer skill.

He might be talking about photos that do not even look natural at all. Like photos that wouldn't normally look the same out of the camera and from the photographer's vision when they were snapped.

Like some people set their camera to be rather flat or unsaturated or remove the digital sharpness so that they can control those things in "post". I get that. That's also the glory of digital photography is that you can correct.

In other experiences beyond this forum I've had folks show me their "great photography" but they're all highly edited images. So I asked to see the originals and they're terrible. So all they've done is use software to mask their photography skills and in that case should they be saying "look at my great photography" or "look at my great editing skills"?

Can I get some lens recommendations? I primarily take car pictures but I feel like I haven't quite found 'THE' go to lens yet within a reasonable price range. Right now I'm using a D3200 w/ Nikkor 35mm and kit lens.
