I find the petro touchless washes do the best job, but it has to be the newer ones that are 100% touch free (including wheels). I can't stand the ones that still have the wheel channels, just asking for scraped wheels.
The one on highway 7 between bayview and yonge does a good job, but it's ALWAYS busy. Now that I'm in Whitby, the one at Taunton/Baldwin(Brock Street) does a good job too, and isn't usually that busy.

In the winter i usually just goto those coin-op self wash bays. I can spend more time tackling the salt underneath the car.

The under wash doesn't come on though if you get their basic wash, you need to upgrade to at least one step up, their "medium" wash, I guess or whatever it's called. |

All the better Petro washes are like that too, same deal about needing the middle grade or better wash to get the underbody spray.
I believe all the Canadian Tire washes are similar too.

I live here in sauga and have been going to the coin-op on Dundas and Mavis.
Because its colder out they leave a small amount of water running thru their hoses continuously which is usually enough to fill a bucket for free. I normally will fill a bucket with free water and my own soap and then go over all the panels with a sponge. Then plug in 4 dollars (4minutes) and use foam brush for the tires, high pressure soap, and high pressure rinse to finish. If you're efficient, it takes about 20 minutes from start to finish including a quick hand dry. I'm normally there Mondays after work and no one really says anything about the buckets because well its cold dark and no one is around lol. But if its really cold out, go to Denny's Car Wash on Mavis. 12 bucks, but they do a really good job. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Best auto wash machine imho is Shell rail-less @ Victoria Park and Finch*, with option of touchless or soft touch (useful for those tough stains). 2nd best is Shell rail-less @ Passmore and Kennedy.
Petro-Canada conveyor belt is too fast and I don't find that it does a good cleaning job at all. Esso is okay but the water jets are too weak. I normally can get by with a $2 bucks self-wash at Budget on Laidlaw near Heritage or Shell Valleymede. Sometimes I wash 3 times a week so I don't need much work to get dirt off, especially if you can manage to work quickly. BRZ is so compact it is fast to hand dry and detailer spray + Stoner glass finish. *EDIT: There is a problem with the Shell auto wash at Victoria Park and Finch where the spotfree rinse at the end isn't working. You will need to hand dry the rain-x off the car once completed. Time to find another good car wash in Scarborough. Last edited by krayzie; 12-25-2013 at 08:51 AM. |

Miss being able to hand wash darn winter. Also recently discovered the shell wash at valleymede which is much more conveniently located than the one at bay view and major mac. Fill up with my chirp free gas and get a wash at the same time

My favorite drive through car washes are the laser washes
The machine cleans around you while you stay in the middle. TOUCHLESS of course. I don't like the Glide or the ones that move you through a car wash. I find they dont clean as well as the laser washes. |

the esso that I go to only has 1000000-PSI hoses that could strip the rock of a mountain lol.

I'll need to check, but I think the coin wash at Hwy 48 / Bur Oak has a low pressure rinse setting, but not sure if it's low for you needs...
