Drift-Office N/A tune

I drove down to Drift-Office this past Saturday for a dyno tune, it was a 250km trip from my house down to their shop. Bob and his staff were super cool and really patient with my tune.

Here are some shots I took:

Mods are:
Perrin foam filter
Perrin Silicon tube
Nameless 2.5" OP/FP w/ Hi-flow cat
Nameless 2.5" Axleback; 5" mufflers

And the dyno plots:
I had some 94 in the tank before filling up with some 92 beside their shop. so lets just say this was tuned on 93 Octane.
Blue is baseline, Red is tuned.

3rd gear:

4th gear:

Impressions:
Car revs up quicker, pulls a lot more smoothly and linear compared to stock, when you go WOT the torque dip, while still there, is barely noticeable.
When you reach the top end however... it's a night and day difference! It keeps going all the way to redline and doesn't get tired.
I would say the MPG improved slightly, I didn't notice it much as I go WOT every chance I get now!

Clean shop with nice cars. How long did it take to dyno tune your car in person like that? Also congrats!

I arrived at like 10:30am, we did a couple baseline pulls.
Fiddled around with different ROM revisions, then began tuning.
We all went out for lunch, when we came back they did the finishing touches and I was out of there by 3:30pm or so~

I also got to test drive Bob's turbo FR-S, which was boner on wheels...

Unless he has 2 I believe his is a HKS supercharger, not a turbo. What I saw of it in the Claim Jumpers parking lot was pretty impressive though!

How are the rear tires holding up?

Looks good to me, congrats on the tune. I do have one question though, is it typical for the tq dip to remain pretty much unchanged after a tune? I've seen some claim that a tune alone can almost eliminate the dip while others (myself included) believe that you need a header + tune to get rid of the tq dip.

I think you're correct on that point. As is seen here, one usually can increase the peak torque and bring the curve out of the dip sooner, but it requires the header to fully rid oneself of the dip.

The HKS SC unit was in the red car we tuned that Ishii Motors installed. Mine was the white one that was sitting discreetly with the AVOTURBOWORLD sticker on the windshield.

Rear tires? Time for some new ones!

That is correct FF ~ a tune alone will not be able to eliminate that dip, and as you can see from the above header, we've tuned out a Borla setup to the point where the dip is virtually gone. Note that results are not possible without a custom calibration though...

JSC ~ I believe this was the setup you're talking about that we tuned...
