No problem. Wish I could have found a couple more things I was looking for.

Not that you're wrong though. Just pointing out it works for some people I guess.

I considered military service starting with ROTC or one of the academies. We did a West Point tour as a field trip in 2001 so that might have had something to do with it. Probably good I didn't cause I really hate following orders lol.

Both my grandfathers are air force veterans and they went in dirt poor. Like, my great grandmother couldn't afford to feed my grandfather so he was raised in a seminary kind of poor. That one was a radio tech in Korea, got an electrical engineering degree, and was very successful. Same story for the other one.
No disagreement here. It is a reasonable path for some people. And as was the case with my father and several uncles a necessity. My dad spent 1943-1945 touring the South Pacific, Guadalcanal (followed the marines), the Solomons, New Guinea. An uncle flew B-25s out of North Africa and then over Normandy in 1944. Im told the AAC “loaned” him a B-25 when he got back to the States so he could go marry my aunt. A couple of uncles didn’t come home from the Pacific.

In those cases, there wasn’t much choice for anyone. Absent a situation like WWII though, I just recommend potential recruits think long and hard about the costs and benefits of it. I was fortunate to avoid Vietnam, but I might well have signed up if I could have gotten a flying gig. But, freakish height, really bad eyesight, and a serious aversion to discipline scratched that. Que sera.

Well, I sure hope your new meds help.

I talked with my witch doctor down on the reservation and he said that controlling uric acid levels in your body is pretty simple - just quit eating or drinking anything that taste good to you and just eat and drink things that don't taste good to you - but, you knew that.

Take care of yourself.

I started taking Allopurinol over 20 years ago. Before that I’d have crippling gout attacks seemingly out of the blue. Doc said we can medicate or you can follow this diet. On the way home I glanced at the diet, did a 180, went back and asked for the meds. As Hum noted, nothing that had any taste was on it and everything that made life worth living was NOT on it.

The meds have worked out well. Over the last 20 years, I may have had a twinge once or twice, but nothing that laid me out. Good luck.

Nope. Just you are the only guy that seems to do anything anymore so when you go away it is a bot free for all.

yep, that the drug, starting at 100mg. Same for me. If I eat the diet, it still get attacks. If I eat the good stuff then it's all out Thermonuclear War. Good to hear it's worked out. I'm praying for the same results. I long for the day I can have pizza and beer again and still walk the next day.

I wish you the absolute best of luck. It takes a while for the meds to stabilize the UA levels so try to be patient. Hang in there.

What? Us? Of course not!

Hidplanet had the same problem. Sometimes they only stop when there's someone to stop them.

Means it's time to call up someone from the reserves!

Ah crap. The more I see the new WRX out on the road the less it bothers me. Hopefully I can move up that optometry appointment.
