Not going to bother installing the bushing today to avoid any implications at the dealership. Time to take it in I guess.

warranty FTW?

ps anyone have a good dealership here in austin to go to for warranty repairs? I've been to charles maund and they were awful. Slow, ignorant people working there IMO
I avoided buying from Charles Maund because of how horrid my experience was there. Try Round Rock Scion.

Definitely keep us, or at least me, informed on the sound deadening. In other places I have lived the brz would be just fine but Texas loves really loud tar plus crushed gravel roads (horrible for rock chips as well.. Burnett was a like driving through a gravel pit the other day). Its certainly on my list.. Especially let us know if you find a good place for buying the stuff.

I was going to mention spicewood springs during the discussion yesterday, usually will do it on the way back from lunch while at work.

Round Rock Scion even serviced my "tuned" car and did all that testing with my HPFP, with the insulation and everything. Granted it didn't do a thing, they work well with you. The engineers tried to blame my tune for "possible DI seal failure and elevated temperatures" which is bullshit, but what do you expect? Just show them you know your car and they won't treat you like an idiot.

Hopefully its not your tranny. So I take it DIY meetup isn't happening this evening?

I'm still down for DIY meetup today. Just won't be installing. will help @Jyn
(if he wants it)

And yeah, I'll probably detune it. I'm tempted to try and replace the transmission fluid, but I know they would hold that over my head if it didn't fix it.

Yeah, hold off on the fluid swap. Flash to your stock map for sure. Less headaches and they don't question or try to scan for any ECU changes. I think they would have to go through pretty deep measures to detect any map changes or Ecutek licenses on the ECU.

I'll meet you guys up at DIY around 5 or a little after. I was considering doing my fluid swap, but I'll probably just wait on it for a few. My car isn't dying without it.

I should be able to be up at DIY around 5:30 or 6 at the latest. Depends on how slammed I get with work at around 4 (which happens more often than I think it should).

Sent!

Wow, the fluid swap is a cakewalk with Motul Gear 300. Literally loosen 4 Hex bolts, drain and fill? Only thing I don't have is a drain pan, lol.
