RI to MS trip, 29.6mpg!

I *averaged* nearly 30mpg on my trip from Pawtucket RI to Laurel, MS. Better than I expected! About same as my overall average in the '17 including more city drivin.

Cruise set to 82-83 for most of the last 2 tanks, with 70 mph speed limits and light ish traffic. Occasional excursions to 90+ to get away from knuckleheads who wanna go faster right up until alongside, then slow down and stay alongside…

Up near peak trq rpm and 2800lbs equates to great mpg especially for a high compression boxer and short gear ratios.

Let me add too that I’m originally from MS and Southern Miss in Hattiesburg is my alma mater. So I’m very very envious of this epic drive!

I was born/raised in Laurel. Could come back but frankly find it more than a bit weird, the new "toursity" aspect. Also mildly hilarious! Just had lunch at LeFleur's and walking out a woman asked mom and me where we're from. Um, *here*

Impressive! I was, too, pleasantly surprised from my Gettysburg, PA trip a few weeks ago. about a 7 hour drive and I could've done it on a full tank of gas. But I was a little more conservative on the speed, averaged 73 MPH.

Damn, yours was a nearly 20 hour drive!
