But once RMP is up it gose away.

I will put the car a bit more after getting tire alignment and see how they are through out the rpm range.
My new Perrin mounts also do the same. It sounds like metallic whine/chatter. Are yours doing the same still? I used german torque specs on mine so I think I am good with tightening it.

They do it the worst at exactly 2700 rpm, or around 50mph in 5th gear. They do it again albeit quieter at around 3300-3500. Its like a harmonic. At first I thought it was my header (ACE350) as I put the header on the same time as the engine mount. I can clearly hear the header rasp when accelerating but this is different. Its more audible with the windows up in the cabin, while the header rasp is more audible with the windows down.

I don't really care for it, it would just be good to know its coming from the mounts itself

Its the mounts. They will give more NVH. Mounts also take a bit to break in. I honestly think after breakin they will still give some NVH.

Sounds like header rubbing under tray, did you hammer it down for clearance?

Honest ...The only time notice the NVH is Cold start idle...

When is still not warmed up , idel at 550 to 600 rpm has very shaky klinky rattle ..I assum prob car running in Open loop trying to get up to temp and engine runs rougher as is not referencing to O2 sensor.

But once car is warm up ..the rattle is minimilized even at idel...
Yes you can still feel it but not the crazy Kling Klong Bam Bam jumpy engine.

Mabye I will get my tuner to bump my idel RPM up to around 650~700....
Pretty much at those rpm..the rattle is gone ...even when engine is cold.

I dont really have much resonance at any other rpm range.. (maybe i should drive more)

I even have the IRP shifter.....lucky for me..no rattle on that..

only thing that rattle in my car is my ebrake knob lol ...

Good to know the engine mounts aren't supposed to make a noise like mine lol.

I did hammer it down, and pretty aggressively at that. I will check for rubs the next time I am underneath the car, the whine doesn't bother me that much anyways this car makes a lot of weird noises as is. I will update this thread after a few thousand miles to see if the engine mounts "break in" and me checking for any rubs.

EDIT: Yes it was the header

Maybe exhaust leak. But sounds just like header rub. A weird highish pitch frequency that almost sounds like an exhaust leak but a little different and only happens in 1 or 2 very specific narrow rpm ranges.

Okay well I took a video. The camera doesn't pick it up well but if you turn up your audio and ignore the drone you should hear the rubbing at the 4 second mark. It comes on and off depending on how much I press the gas pedal/engine load, as heard in the rest of the video.

Edit: On second thought, you might be right I may have forgot to hammer the other driver side of the tray. I am doubting myself now lol I will take a look when I have some time to spare. It does sound like header rubbing the more I look into it.

EDIT: Yes it was the header

Hey brotha, have you looked into it yet? I have Ace a350 headers in a box waiting to be installed and looking for engine mounts to go with them. Would you recommend perrin or STI mounts?

Was there any consensus on "Group-N" mounts existing for the BRZ? I only see different parts for the WRX.
