RevWorks UEL Header + Nameless Catted Front Pipe VS Stock Gutted Header + FP
Decided to Gut the cat out of my header. Then Had my cousin cut out the cat+res in my stock front pipe. Swapped out the gutted stock parts with the RevWorks UEL Header + Nameless 2.5 Catted DP and something weird happened. Oh I also removed my 3in Perrin intake. It seems with no weather correction (No weather correction on either dyno pulls) It made .1 less HP and maybe 5lb's less torque.... Dyno Graphs will come when I get home from work in a couple hours.
Oh this is also on a innovate Supercharged Car. Quote:

Sounds like the high flow cat in the nameless op/fp is badass and the revworks header sucks. Did you have a dialed in tune for each setup?
I'd put the nameless op/fp back on

Hard to tell what happened there with three parts getting changed. I'm guessing the stock header is more designed toward high end torque thus you didn't lose much top end. I would bet the nameless op/fp even with a cat flows better than the gutted stock piece if it is compared to stock overpipe and modified front pipe. The stock overpipe is a mess.

Did you weld in a pipe in place of header cat or delete?
I'm strongly considering doing one or the other and trying a na s2 tune |

Its already been shown that this car with FI shows much smaller gains with after market headers.

So can I attempt to sum up a conclusion here?
The primary reason aftermarket Headers/Pipes produce gains are because they remove/replace the catalytic converters. If you remove/gutt the stock header/pipes catalytic converters you will get nearly identical gains in hp (after tune). This means that spending $1000-$2000 on pipes is not necessary to get a good increase in HP. |

Stock header should be of thicker sidewalling than an aftermarket one.
