All i've got is the squeak -- No bad feel. Looks like i'll have to put the spring back in if i take it in.

Warranty goes until 60k miles correct?

EDIT: Should mention that I only have a squeak/creak whenever letting up on the pedal. Pushing the pedal down there is no sound or strange feel.

Yes, 60k miles. Not sure about that but I would put the spring in if you can. Yeah mine started out that way where it would make a sound going up but it eventually started to squeak pushing down on the clutch as well.

Good to know. Did you have your entire clutch/transmission replaced as well?

If I take it in, I suppose I should pull the mtec springs so I could use them again if the transmission gets replaced. Bummer.

They left the clutch and transmission alone but they did replace the throw out bearing and few other little items associated with it. Yeah I would just let them fix it. I'm just not positive about just greasing the clutch fork will resolve the issue permanently.

Right.

I may try to lube it and then if I start experiencing the squeak when pushing the clutch down I will take it in while under warranty.

Thanks for your input!

FInally made an appointment few weeks out to have it checked out. I've had the squeak for a while now but the feel of the clutch pedal is very annoying. I just hope they don't give me the whole "you have modded your car blah blah" or "it's going to cost $xx to diagnose and then we can say if it will be covered etc."

I recently noticed a noise coming from my clutch once I push in the clutch pedal (disengage the clutch). I believed it to be the throw out bearing. I called the dealership because my car is still under warranty and they said since this is a wear item it will not be under warranty and I would have to pay to have it fixed. Which who knows how much that cost. He put it as the breaks wear and if they need replaced that is not covered under warranty.

I have access to a full shop and decided to do the job myself. 2 hours later transmission was out and the throw out bearing rattled and was hard to turn. Also when I moved the clutch fork back and forth it squeaked like hell.

Ordered a new throw out bearing and Lucas Red N Tacky #2. Going to install it this weekend and grease everything to see if it stops.

Also upgrading the transmission oil and while I am at it the differential oil as well.

Car has just over 52K miles and the transmission oil was black. Should drive a lot better once I am done. I will post an after actions report of my findings. Possibly a video of the old throw out bearing and clutch fork making noise and after I grease it up.

Thumbs up After actions

I have installed everything back in the car yesterday and drove it around and I can't hear anything from the clutch anymore. She is as quite as you could possibly get.

This is the video I took of before and after the grease. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sJr6hQ3SgU"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sJr6hQ3SgU[/ame]

That looks like a tough spot to get to without dropping the tranny. That's the most definitive picture I've seen yet of the problem though. Thanks for showing it!

Thanks for posting this video it really helps. I think my main issue was the squeaky clutch fork.

@jdrmoney - where did you buy the TOB and how much was it? Also, how difficult was it to remove the tranny and everything associated to do this job (granted you have the right tools)?

I bought the TOB from a Subaru dealership online. It was $48 with shipping.

It took me a little over 2 hours to drop the transmission and another 3 to put in back in because I took the clutch fork off and cleaned everything to put new grease on. Along with changing the differential oil.

For reference I used this service manual located here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35279

It gives you everything you need to know to complete the job. Even where to grease and the torque specs for everything. The only thing I didn't replace was the transmission/differential drain and filler plug gaskets. Which I believe are somewhere around $8-$11 per piece. I have just been checking the plugs for leaks and none so far.

Best of luck if you decide to DIY, wasn't too hard but I have dropped a few transmissions in the passed. It makes a difference if you get the car on a lift. I did a few with the car on the ground and no transmission jack.
