Well if you review all the 99,000 threads we've had on this subject there is plenty of name calling for AT drivers as well. I wouldn't get to hurt by it.

In the end, its usually a MT purist that kicks the horse first.

I'm personally bi-gearist making me a member of the ATMT community. I enjoy them both and can see the advantages/disadvantages of both.

I’m not hurt. I just think people miss the point in why people prefer manuals and in general this miss-conception is going to completely kill the manual.

You mean the constant complaint from people who don't even drive standard that say it is hard or tasking in traffic looool.

My point in these debates is the constant instance that MT is more fun as if shifting is the only aspect of driving. It isn’t.
If talking MT over AT in almost any other car I would sing a different song but the ATs in these are not your average Corolla and the car can be every bit as fun. Demeaning people that go AT with comments such as “don’t know how to drive” is not going to save the MT from extinction in the Western Hemisphere no matter how passionate a very small minority may be in the subject.

Specifically the miss-conception that driving enthusiasts buy a car purely for a spec sheet. It isn’t worth killing the fun just to shave .1 off the 1320. That’s my opinion anyways.

There is an overwhelming amount of people who don't buy MT solely because of traffic and their impressions of what it would be like in traffic, when in reality it's not hard at all. I know a few people that after they got into my car and drove it in traffic were amazed at how smooth and easy it was.

One of the guys even thought the foot rest was the clutch.... and told me "Yeah, I could never drive manual in traffic, it would be too hard. You're foot was on the clutch the entire time"... I followed with simply: "That's the foot rest." and he immediately regretted buying an AT Mustang.

I only buy manuals because that's the best anti-theft device out there.
