Yet another TT/ST build

I'm not a big forum user these days but figured it was time to post my car and detail out some of the build steps. This is a 2015 BRZ I bought mostly stock for 10k in 2022 and while it's been through a few iterations since I've owned it, I'll just focus on where it is today/going forward.

Current setup:

Body/Chassis

Walker Motorsports Docol cage
Racecomp Splitter
9 lives swan wing

Motor

K24 swap
Drag Cartel DIC cams
Bosch 74mm TB
Winning Formula TB Isolator
Coolant system converted to all AN fittings
Haltech 1500/WB1
Canchecked MCE18
Perrin 3"
Misfits Motorsports shift selector rod

Suspension

Nitron R1 450/600
SPL FLCA
SPL TRE
SPL RLCA
SPL toe arms (I'm noticing a trend...)
Whiteline Swaybars

Brakes

Performance Package Brembos
Hawk ER-1 (not thrilled)

Wheel/Tire

Apex EC-7RS 17x9.5 +40
Apex SM-10RS 17x10 +45 (still working on fitment)
Maxxis RC1 255/40/17

Data/Electronics

AIM MXG
Racelogic VBOX LapTimer
Haltech Keypad

Current Issues

Car has too much push. I suspect the rear wing is too big for the limited front aero. I'm running a healthy rake and rear sway set full stiff already.

Very odd issue where the engine will go incredibly rich after 1-2 laps (think .55-.60 lambda) with no discernable cause. Issue persisted over a new tune and many parts cannon firings

Cool build, do you have something under your pinch-weld to allow you to jack from the center of the car?

Yeah, I had Walker add center jacking points to make track-side work a little easier. Probably the best mod I've done.

Is a gesture of complete overkill, I'm replacing my ECU and wideband controller with Emtron. While I'm not convinced I have any actual issues with the ecu hardware, Haltechs diagnostics and logging are pretty limited and nothing me or the tuner have tried have helped. Hopefully this will give us better diagnostics to chase this issue down and have a fully functional car again.

Picked up a new set of wheels; Apex SM10RS 17x10 +45 with the same 255 maxxis. Just fits in the 257 template, but the offset is wrong for this car. It'll require 5mm spacers in the back, 10mm up front, and rack limiters. Hopefully it's worth it.

I also started working on some of the extra sensors that the emtron will want. I ordered a bosch TMAP for the intake, since I will be running map sensors on both sides of the throttle body. This also lets me delete my IAT, which on the kpower kit is just sitting in a rubber grommet and always bothered me. Additionally I ordered a flex fuel sensor and mounted it, along with relocating my fuel pressure sensor to the same spot. I still need to finish the mounts and make the new lines, but that will wait until I get the rest of the fitting in.

Finished prototyping a mount for the fuel pressure sensor to keep it from rattling around and possibly loosening the fitting up. If you guys haven't checked out craftcloud (no affiliation), you should. They have metal 3d printing for surprisingly affordable prices. My old fuel pressure sensor mount came from there and I'll send this off as well. Only $25 and while I have some "engineering filaments" the more I can avoid plastics in the engine bay the better.

Got the car back together over the last few days and dropped it off with the tuner for ECU work. He's going to finish wiring up the extra sensors (and a few other lingering wiring issues I've been waiting for a bulkhead passthrough to fix).

Overkill maybe.

But those kinds of random, no-idea-why kinda problems are the worst.

If it can give you enough data to solve those problems quickly... that seems worth it

It's been really frustrating to say the least. Multiple events wasted because I could only manage 1 hot lap at a time. Car has been sitting for months because there was no reason to burn consumables. I just want to go driving again

I could write multiple pages about all the troubleshooting we did. Between the incredible people in the discord and my tuner, I think we eliminated every logical option, so we moved on to the illogical LOL.

We even went so far as mounting a camera on the throttle body, because we saw evidence of pedal position and thottle blade mismatch...
