Trans and diff can use the same oil. 75W-90 is more than okay, brand is up to your choice. AMSOIL is pricey, but they make quality products. |

Factory fill tends to keep the trans feeling notchy. Doing your LSD at the same time is just good practice and maintenance even though the manual states a "Check" at 30K miles. Switching to Motul, Amsoil, or Redline improves the feel and quality of both fluids. I switched them maybe 2 weeks after getting my BRZ with 13K miles and the difference when switching gears was improved compared with the factory fill. |

You probably will need 3 quarts for the transmission.
My review here btw: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=127620 Edit: Damnit I necro-ed... |

The bolded statement is a matter of contention. Yes it will function, but I think there are differences between the products listed. I forget what they are though lol.

I think for daily use, Motul 75W-90 should be more than okay. For other applications, I would recommend using a more refined product. |

I really didn't care for the motul trans oil and ditched it after a short time. I have been running redline MT-90 since I can get it anywhere, shifts nicer, and is a bit cheaper. I know other guys swear by Synchromesh for the same reasons.

I'd have to check it out. I haven't really changed it since I got the vehicle with 13K Miles. It was an improvement from the OEM one and haven't had any issues ever since. I got about 5K miles until I change it again and I'll go with either Amsoil or Redline. My biggest grudge was a feeling of lack of leverage when shifting gears, which the Raceseng weighted knob took care off like a champ. |

+1 on the Raceseng shift knob. Probably, dollar for dollar, the best single mod I’ve made to mine.
