Did you use any good guideline for installation, or it is obvious enough?
Yup same one, I confirmed the part number is the same for both gens in the Cusco catalog. I will sheepishly admit I did not do my own install lol. I was not excited to bend into the positions required for install, so I paid someone else.

Job is done. You improved your car. And promoted a good mod.

Except that flag is a lot less WWII-specific than the nazi one. It's a lot older, and is still used today.

I understand it might rub some people the wrong way but hey, if they can't see a Japanese navy flag 80 years after pearl harbour (and after decades of economic and strategic collaboration), they might have some issues.

EDIT: crap, I'm late to this debate - guess I haven't been here in a while

while i understand the concept, maybe belgium is a little different-- in the US, there's been a massive movement and outcry that has led to tearing down any and all monuments from major figures that had ties to the confederacy and/or slavery, which pre-dates any ww2 issue, and the confederate flag has literally been culturally banned from use-- only extremist type people even consider flying it anymore due to its association with slavery.

I agree, also, I'd like to toss the Arizona State Flag into the argument. This is the symbol of the sun...
If they ever ban the rising sun (which I doubt), I'll gladly remove it. For now, it just looks so nice to me. I'm proud of my little Japanese toy car and wanted to show it.

You have to remember that Japan was awful towards other Asian countries during the war. Many older generations of Asian Americans still feel resentment towards Japan for that. It’s more than just Pearl Harbor that bothers people.

Have had the car a week now. I ripped the clutch spring out the moment I got it home, tint was done last week, and yesterday I got around to putting the OEM tires onto some new daily wheels and new autox tires onto the OEM wheels. Wheels are colored to comply with the Law of Blue Subarus.

This week the crash bolts should arrive and I'll get those in for that sweet extra 0.25-0.5 degrees of front camber , do a quick toe adjustment in the garage, then off to its first autocross on Sunday. Probably going to adjust the clutch pedal down a bit, too, since the bite point is so high.

Ive got all the STI aero, LED front bumper lights, clear side markers, a dash cam, and borla catback just waiting for my car to arrive. Hopefully no more delays and I can have this all put in next weekend!

I installed mudflaps yestarday

Fronts are very easy, rears are a bit harder, gotta take off the wheel and drill holes (they provide you with a template though)

My biggest issue was it was pretty confusing figuring out the plastic clips. There are 4 kinds and its like impossible to tell which one goes there. So I ended up using a wrong one on the front, once I figured it out it was impossible to take it out.
Also I didnt have a 7mm drill bit, ended up using 1/4" which is the largest I have. I tried to drill it out more but still ended up breaking one of the clips in the back.
It took me longer then I thought it would, but in the end I got it so pretty happy about that.
Mudflaps look nice in my opinion, they stick out a bit but not too obnoxious (this is not a rally car)

Theres bunch of videos on youtube on how to turn off that chime for Subarus.
Basically you put it into ignition mode (without starting the car) and rapidly buckle/unbuckle driver seatbelt 20 times in 30 seconds then start the car (or you gotta turn off accessory mode first and start it I forget).
Actually took me couple of tries, it didn't work for me at first, I tried it again last Friday and it finally seemed to work. Was so happy, that chime is suuuper annoying
