They said they have to contact Subaru Techline for instructions/guidance on working on the vehicle. Is that a load of bull$h!t, or are they actually needing to consult some other knowledge group?

They might not have service guides and whatnot created yet! Probably accurate - I know they did the same with the guy who had issues with the bad gas.

It's definitely gotten out of hand. When they fail, u are stuck too, can't drive, tow truck, required, and the failure rates in that are not as low as many would expect. It's all just silly marketing gimmicks. It just adds to the repair bills over the years of ownership, which they love because at least some percentage of those ppl will goto their dealership, which puts money back into their pockets.

I've have had mine in -20C weather, no issues with the windows at all so far.

Yeah I kinda figured i've got a problem. I'll upload the video tomorrow AM. In short, it starts to roll up, then abruptly closes to about 20% to being in the "fully open" position.

Definitely get that fixed under warranty, probably a faulty switch or something.

If you check this post you can check the harness going into the mirror. It needs to look like the one with 4 wires. Some shipped out with 3, and the homelink buttons do not work. The mirror is likely fine, but need a new harness.

Hey thanks, I did not check that. But; I'll make it the dealer's problem. I have a warranty - I intend to use it. They made me pay MSRP, so I'm going to make them support their product.

For sure make it their problem. But make sure they know about it so the tech doesn't try to use the bad harness because they just plug up the mirror and say it doesn't work either.

True, fair enough. I'll call 'em tomorrow. Or give them the details when they call me.

crazy question here: why does the air recirculation always turn itself on every time you turn the car on?

i have to hit the button each time to make it bring in fresh air instead of recirulation.

thx

It’s trying to warm the car as fast as possible so it recycles air until things are closer to the temp you set and it automatically starts bringing in fresh air.
