This 1st gen forum seems dead. Too bad.

Maybe it will pick up as these cars approach 10 years / 100k miles.
I have yet to do a repair besides brakes, tires, and oil in 75k miles.
Where have all the DIY'ers gone to ?

A good chunk of vehicles have way passed the 100K miles. Just ask @Dadhawk.

There are constant tips, info, and DIYs for all types of services. Some members even have the manuals linked to their bio.

If you’re looking for specific DIYs, use the search feature. Or refer to the specific threads for different areas of the vehicle (Mechanical, Tunning, suspension, brakes, FI)

Most of us are still here. I think you have to remember the car has been around for a long time now and most questions have been answered. Quite a few people have migrated to the new platform which is similar as well. There are also a lot of posts asking questions from low post count members that they never follow up on so a lot of times they get skipped out of annoyance.

I'm still here daily. I'm just jaded. I'll engage if the topic is in my wheelhouse AND OP is willing to actually do the work.

Shout out to my OT peeps.

Still here lol. Just busy with life, and the 2nd gen hasn't needed anything but oil changes lol.

My 14 year old BMW 335i on the other hand, ohhhhhhhh boy, she's been needy!

Yep, just shy of 230K miles with minimal issues, all of which are documented in my owner's journal (see signature). I made regular posts in the journal when i first got the vehicle, but since I've primarily kept it stock and it's only been in the shop a few times and really only once for a mechanical breakdown (in the last twelve months and that was caused by a battery tiedown) there's only so much that can be said.

Well, except for the paint, still sucks, will always suck, too expensive to fix.

I'm at almost 84,000 kms* on my 2013 early production.

*that's 52,000 miles for people that live in countries that resist change.

Hey, has anyone noticed this "chirping" sound at idol?

Plenty of first gens with tons of miles out there. I'm at 138,000km(85k miles) on my 2017. Driven daily.

At this point I think a lot has been covered for first gen topics. Plus Tcoat isn't around to amuse him self and everyone else
