Anyone here into Sim racing?

I'm battling a severe addiction to Dirt Rally and Project Cars. Anyone else into sim racing? Do you use a gamepad or racing wheel? Third person view? Bonnet? Cockpit? Excited for Project Cars 2?

If any of you guys are into it, it would be cool to have some races sometime on AC or Project Cars. My steam ID is the same as my username here, feel free to add me.

I used to! But once you get into iRacing, you won't really be able to enjoy project cars or dirt rally. I couldn't. I used a G27 at first, then got a Fanatec RS500 something (?). Funny thing is I actually preferred the G27. Had a playseat as well. Assetto Corsa was very good, great steering feedback and "road feel", exactly what project cars lacked

I love project cars but I definitely agree, something isn't right with the tire physics. However, I love most everything else. Does iRacing have rally at all though?

I used to have a g29 but I had to return it. A very dark day.

Right there with you. PC gaming with a G27 and a cheap ebay steering wheel. The stock wheel was tiny. I want to do a couple upgrades on the pedals soon.

Rig consists of a 7700k, 1080Ti and an ultrawide 3440x1440p monitor. It's unreal. PCars & Assetto corsa is my jam.

No rally, but they have stock dirt racing (american), GT1, SCCA, F1, vintage F1, random other one make cups, nascar trucks and stock cars. Prototypes I believe too. Participation varies in some of the classes though. Some go a whole week without races or you may get one.

Those with G27 and G29 or have used both, do you see much reason to not buy the cheaper G27?

PS4 platform here

Looks/feel and forcefeedback are better in the g29, pretty sure it also has more programmable buttons and a dial on it,but the g27 comes with the shifter.

Yeah the G29 has a plethora of different settings, for sure, but I'm more interested in the force feedback of the wheel. Also, yes, you have to buy the shifter additionally with the G29, bummer.

I think amazon has both for around the same price right now, personally I'd still probably go with the g29 even though it doesn't have the shifter.

OOOH YES! I recently got AC and I've been playing it with the Vive. I think the physics in that game are the best I've felt so far. My only gripe is I don't have a steering wheel/pedals/shifter quite yet and playing with a controller is very unfulfilling. So far I've only played in short bursts, but I flipping love the car dynamics. I'll add you on Steam over the weekend. Look for an invite from "Beach07."

xBox One with Logitech G920 and manual shifter add-on here. Dirt 4, Dirt Rally, Forza 6, Project Cars, and Forza Horizon 2. Good times.

I found it near impossible to play AC with a controller, put 5-6 hours into it, never even got a trophy in the Abarth tutorial race. Hopefully I can get a wheel/chair setup by the end of the year.

Slowly putting mine together. I have an ancient Logitech driving force from back in the GT academy days, but got a decent cage w/seat a few months ago and just recently got an oculus rift. I run Project cars now because AC is a PITA to use VR with W7.

Thrustmaster TX will probably be next.
