I have the TRD springs (came on the car)on stock 86 suspension, and unless the roads are perfectly SMOOTH, they suck. It's like they didnt even check the spring rates for the stock dampers at all. ANY type of dip in the road at higher speeds and you about nail your head on the headliner of the car. I need to get a new set up that is more compliant for these bumpy ass Ohio roads. |

I am ready to trade the car in bc I am sick and tired of my wife botching about it non stop. We'll see, I am trying to make a deal on a 2020 Ts for $1500 under invoice. They are at $1260 under right now. On a Limited PP package so far no one will go below $500 under invoice |

While the tS' flexible braces make it more comfortable than other twins, I don't think any twin will get your wife off your back. My wife gets carsick easily and she cannot ride in my BRZ (stock PP suspension) for any amount of time without getting nauseous. Solution: get your wife her own car |

I think you need to take a ride one after the other with a blindfold on to limit sensory impute. Not enough difference to please wife.

The stock shocks have barely enough travel to work on stock springs, let alone with lowering springs. At factory height the car has just under 2" of shaft travel, most of which is taken up by the bump stop. The second you lower it any significant amount, you're now compressing the bump stop at rest which I imagine isn't helping your car's awful ride. I have a similar issue with my RS camber plates on stock struts. The bearing for the spring eats up about 3/8" to 1/2" of shaft travel and I can feel the front bottoming on some bigger freeway bumps. Much of this is a result of chassis design compromises that resulted in the height of the front fender wells being much lower than ideal which eats up possible wheel travel. So Subaru had to spec the shock travel appropriately to prevent the tire from slamming into the wheel well under heavy compression. This is not an issue in the rear as far as I can tell. There's room for the wheel to go farther up compared to the front. But, you also have to be mindful of ground clearance under cornering compression. If the wheel is allowed to go too high up, the bottom of the car can get too close to the ground which can lead to scraping on large bumps in high compression corners.(I've also experienced this when I had coilovers with my car set about 1" lower than stock, but with enough suspension travel)

They didnt do their homework and they are really not damped properly with the TRD lowering springs. Down at the Dragon they were great, but I live in Ohio where the roads blow I COULD buy some OEM springs and swap them out or by coilovers as well. I could also complain about the TRD springs since they are under warranty, they MIGHT replace them, who knows??? |

It sounds like your wife isn't the only one bitching.. On a serious note, maybe this car doesn't suit your needs well? Have you considered a GT car with a softer ride? |

Yeah I’d want to rip out the eibach/trd springs out of there if the roads were crap. Can try the rce yellows or just bite the bullet and get some decent coilovers. Even the cheap teins should ride better

Roads aren't great in RI/SEMass, and honestly I was 100% fine with Swift 1" lowering springs with the PP dampers, with stock strut isolators, over crappy potholed roads here. It was intolerable with Raceseng camber plates though, which took away about 3/4" more bump travel.
