Thumbs up AVO Turbo Kit Results and Review @ Pure Automotive Performance!!

This car is @nataku 's Hot Lava FRS!

His baseline pull was with an Airaid intake and Mach V Muffler Delete. It made 152.38 whp and 127.27tq before the turbo kit.

We installed the AVO Ceramic Coated Turbo Kit and AVO Optional Blow Off Valve. We also installed a Perrin Over Pipe and Perrin Catted Front Pipe as well.

We were very happy with the results for just a base map! The car feels strong and is a blast to drive! The power from the basemap is pretty impressive, we'll be doing a custom tune in the future! Power comes in pretty smooth and pulls all the way to redline. It has a very stock feel to it. The recirculated wastegate and quiet BOV make the car feel like a factory turbo setup, much like a WRX minus traction of course!

Can't wait to do another one!

Dynojet Dyno, SAE Correction
242.76 whp / 208.57 tq !!

One thing that I really respect and appreciate from the Avo Turbo kit is that it's fairly simple and doesn't scream look at me. Simplicity is good sometimes !
I can't pull it off though

Interesting dip at 4300 RPM. Was there a boost fluctuation or is the AFR/timing off in that area?

Not even a slight dip in that range on the AFR, it's odd. Boost I'm not sure, he doesn't have a gauge yet. I can't see the map because its AVO's so....

I'm sure paul or bob will chime in but the curve does look a bit off. on our curve its a straight line with no dip. Always happy to see another AVO kit out!

Me thinks he's talking about the dip @ 4300RPM...

Could we get a boost and AFR plot to go with that run to eliminate those two factors? And are you still running that Air Raid intake?! If so, take that out and put the stock intake back on, do another run and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Lastly, was this on a 6MT or 6AT?

Regards!

Basemap was made on a stock exhaust with a stock airbox, so cannot really comment on the figures with the air raid intake + muffler delete. While I don't think the muffler delete will change things as much, the intake will certainly affect the performance.

I wouldn't spend too much time reading into the dip unless it's still there after the car is tuned.

Base tunes are great to get to and from the shop and to sort out any install issues, but at the end of the day I would not feel safe running one for any length of time. I would at least want to have the tune tweaked via datalogging/street tuning, preferably live tuned on a dyno.

It's not still running the Airaid intake. It's a stock intake with K&N Filter.

I have another AVO customer going on the dyno this week so we'll see if it's got something to do with the car or not.
