They wouldn't have 10psi at 2500rpm. Twin screw is much faster.

Was thinking about buying this kit and installing it over the winter, but I have a few questions.
1. A local shop told me this kit likes to shred belts. Is this true?
2. Can you use an aftermarket MAP sensor?
3. Is the intercooler restrictive?

Source:http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=15

I'll be honest, I haven't read through the 500+ pages yet. Sorry.
Have a good weekend

1 - It doesn't 'shred' belts but I've had a few become squeaky. I'm currently on the 'blue' model of the gates belt and so far it's worked. I'm wondering if it will start squeaking soon. If not they the blue is the way to go.
2 - No otherwise the top end is all wonky and that's because of the answer to # 3.
3 - A little yes.

I bought my kit used for $3000 with intercooler. If I were to buy a brand new supercharger it would be an Edlebrock. The 210 Sprintex is maxed out on 92 octane gas around 250hp/200tq. E85 gets you to 285hp/235tq-ish. To get more you need to run the 335 kit but then you'll need a clutch, injectors, and a fuel pump to get up to 300hq/260tq on 92oct and 330hp/290tq with e85. To get past that mark you need to have a fully built engine, but you'll also want to only run e85 at that point as the post charge temps are really high. The intercooler design isn't made for max cooling, it's made for a compact integrated fitment.

Thought I'd add that it works fine without an intercooler. 3000 miles here and no belt probs.

I just picked up a used 335 kit that came with a full blown 4 bar map already installed. Seller didn't state any issues with the top end. Can you elaborate more please on what issue I might run into running this map sensor?

Anyone got any recommendation on the best header to compliment the sprintex 210?

The car do a lot of trackdays. I would like to retain the sound characteristic of the stock header. So I assume UEL would be best to keep the sound the same and Decat for most power.

Stock header is EL, so you'd want an uncatted EL header. You'll also get more power out of equal length headers because of proper exhaust scavenging.

It causes issues with fueling etc, the same as the 210. It's all to do with the sensor placement and the fluctuations it sees in pressure. If you want to keep the 4 Bar sensor then perhaps grab a D-Box as that should resolve the issue, or just run the OEM sensor.

Do you think it would affect a MAF based tune? I've still got my 2bar sitting in my car from when I accidentally ordered it.

So, tomorrow I'm getting a flex tune on a 75mm pulley with a 335 kit on 9:1 compression forged internal engine. also picking up a pair of Mach V Awesome wheels (17x9) and M/H Drag radials and maybe some Michelin PSS tires in stock size for street use (undecided if i'm going wider or not). Alignment for drag racing and some cusco engine mounts since the supercharger keeps smacking the hood on the stock mounts.

Do not use anything other than the OEM sensor on the Sprintex. A D-Box will likely allow you to use an aftermarket sensor. MAF tune or SD, the fluctuations cause a loss of power.

If anyone is interested I have a used 335 unit I'm going to sell for CHEAP. Would come with everything to bolt up to your 210 setup.
