I heard the drop in filter helps a tiny bit, but fa20 has a tune specifically for the aFe intake and that made a few hp over the stock intake with tune.

There's also a groupbuy for the tune+intake going on right now

Both tuners have tunes for AFE intakes. You'll typically see 2-4whp.

And after 10 revisions some still make the same as stock.

I notice on the dyno without applying a high speed/volume fan to the intake to simulate road speed induction characteristics you can see variances as much as 4-5whp on final results.

There's no doubt in my mind that pumpgas Hp gains fall right in the margin of error.

Fan or no fan doesn't hide the gain in trq thou

Still working on it, but requires upgraded cams or compression ratio change so I'm assuming most won't be getting Stg2

Do you have any tune that would maximize gain from an AFe intake and custom catback magnaflow exhaust? Thanks john

Yes, that's my STG1 tune.

These cars don't make a lot of power, adding exhaust systems and intakes haven't proven to pickup power beyond the margin of error.

What 100% pickups power and torque is a flash.

You money is best spent with a flash and catback if your looking for a better sound.

I have several tunes that are tuned for different intakes on the market for both pump gas and e85.

To go back to the original thread after all the update of both Visconti and FA20-club
would be nice to have a comparison dyno of those last update

Big thanks to the OP for starting this thread as well as those who've contributed data as well as the tuners. It's been a very insightful read and I'm glad to have had the opportu ity to follow & learn from mature discussions between talented folks who seem genuinely committed to making this platform better.

It's obvioisly not a si ole matter to cure but I'm curious to know what @FA20Club.com and @Visconti suspect might be causing the torque dip based on their experience.

Conclusion - when the time comes it's a tune plus an exhaust of some type for sound (and weight savings). The rest of my money's going into suspension and brakes.

Also, you guys just saved me 250-400 bucks on an intake so I guess I owe you all a :happy0180:
