phanguy <3's Selina (my Ultramarine baby)
My first car was an 04 Honda Element that my dad gave me when I graduated college in 2010. In the same year I sold it off and bought a 91 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 from my brother. It had been upgraded to the 97/98 body style, had HIDs, lighter wheels, racing seats, fiberglass hood, and a carbon fiber driveshaft. As great as this car was it still had a lot of issues due to its age. Also it didn’t help that it drank gas link an alcoholic drinks free beer...
Anyway I learned about the FR-S/BRZ last december when my brother showed it to me. I thought it looked really nice and started really learning about it. It didn’t take much convincing for me to decide that this was the perfect car to replace my VR4. I had originally planned on getting the BRZ and even put my preorder in, but I felt like it was going to take too long since I was actually on the waitlist to be on the preorder list so I went ahead and was able to find the FR-S in the exact color I wanted. Score! I’m absolutely happy with how the FR-S drives. It handles so well. I’m stepping down a bit (well more than a bit) in HP, but it’s all made up in just having a car that has fewer problems, way better MPG, and handles like a freaking beast. As happy as I am with it there are definitely some improvements I want to make. I’ve made a nearly complete list of everything that is planned for the car and the threads that I posted in or used for inspiration. The idea for my car(and previous car) was to do some nice and easy mods to make it nicer looking and more comfortable, but also since I’m not a huge car buff I wanted the mods to be relatively easy to perform. I don’t have any plans to touch the engine much if at all(other than regular maintenance of course!), but everything else is pretty much game. I’m also really big into music so I’m hoping to have a bad ass sound system, but I also want to retain as much trunk space as possible when I eventually add my amp and sub. If anyone has any questions then please feel free to ask! I'm happy to help as much as I can. :happy0180: Things I’m doing now: (Everything is ordered. Just waiting for them to come in.) Ordered the trunk lining... Just waiting for it to come in http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8535 Ordered the JDM exhaust tips as well http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8876 Install new HU http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8585 Probably going to use this HU - I had a Pioneer in my last car and I liked it quite a bit. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...on/AVIC-X940BT Homelink mirror! http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10171 Shark fin http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5421 Five Axis spoiler http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9374 Things I’ve done: Got my baby opti-coated!
