should I take the 15 and my 17 out to track and slide it around for you guys to get the solution? lol

I think the replies on this thread is pretty on point.

so far yes, track mode doesn't seem to interfere as much from my experience.

I don't really care for the primacies on either car, but I need to find time to actually take both cars and slide it around and I've only slid a 13 around track once a year or two ago, I would need to do it back to back.

heck I'll even look for a pro driver to do it, since I might not be the best candidate, I'll need permission for the 15 I have possession of.

this might take a bit or arrangements... not gonna promise anything.

Bottom line is the posts on here are pretty on point already.

Wasn't it made clear that track mode in the 2017 car = pedal dance in 13-16?

Nope. Holding down the traction off button on a 17 would be more akin to the pedal dance.

No. Holding it down does the same as before but they are a little more forgiving on the 17s. It specifically says this in all the official materials. To completely turn them off you still need the pedal dance.

That goes contrary to a post earlier in this thread which is what I was referencing when I gave that answer. Which official materials did you get this info from, is this in the manual?

Brake LSD will be off as well if it's a MT but in an automatic transmission the Brake LSD will be in "TRACK mode" still. In the first gen FRS/BRZ with MT, Brake LSD remained on in this mode and often cause interference when the driver wants to take full control. This is perhaps why there was a need for the pedal dance (someone from 1st gen pls confirm?)
Indicator light so you know you're in this mode: "TRAC OFF" and "Car with skidmark with word OFF at bottom"
To turn off this mode, simply press the "Tracktion-off" button. This mode will also be turned off when:
- regular key-start vehicle -- engine switch is turned to "LOCK" position
- push-button-start vehicle -- push button ignition turned off
- note this mode will NOT turn off even after reaching 50km/h (~31 mph)

I agree with deejaylew on this one... Holding down the "Traction-off" button (e.g. the leftmost button) for 3 seconds on MY17 cars with Manual Transmission should have the same effect as the pedal dance on 1st Gen FRS/BRZ, as the users guide says that will turn off TC, VSC, and Brake LSD.

Now if you have the Automatic transmission MY17 you'll still need to do the pedal dance to turn Brake LSD off as well, as in the Automatic holding down the "Traction-off" button for 3 seconds only turns off TC and VSC, while the Brake LSD reamins in "Track mode" and not completely off.

I stand corrected but the button that Tcoat is referring to is the TRACK button (rightmost button).

Here's your pro: Aaron Povoledo - http://povoledotrackdays.com/wp/

I've used him extensively at tracks all over the Northeast, Quebec, and Ontario, and he's more than capable of sorting this out in short order.

I'm having a laugh reading, and may be proven wrong just the same, but I'm going to toss my bets that it's just a change in the threshold, but otherwise same shit different story...
