I had asked for them because I wanted to see how the car looked with both items on at the. Same time.

Product looks interesting, especially combined with the diffuser but downforce, drag and lift figures really mean nothing to me, much the same as dyno numbers.

Might be early days still but has anyone done any track testing with these aero bits being the only change and seeing how much their times changed? If there was something worthwhile on that front, I'd order a race version now.

Sorry should have mentioned that I read your post about the feel of the car being improved. But did you find any quantifiable gain in time around the track?

I should also mention, I mean circuit stuff rather than AutoX.

I was running a different track configuration at MMP than previous track days so the numbers won't correlate but I can tell you that the car was considerably faster and more balanced and stable. You'll have to trust me. I have no reason to endorse the products, I'm just sharing my experience.

@glamcem may be able to answer that. I believe he added just the splitter to an already Type 1 DWL diffuser car.

He does not have the full race kit yet; however, I believe he records his times religiously and should be able to shed some light on how the street front splitter did.

I'll let him weigh in.

I record my times too, but Miller Motorsports Park has 4 configurations and this was my first time on the full track. They only run this configuration once a year for HPDE. I am also getting faster as a driver each day so it is real difficult to get totally objective information.

I wish I had the time to track more, you guys make it look like so much fun! Someday.... someday .

Anyway, you bring up a good point. Another level of scrutiny is introduced, driver improvement.

At the end of the day, some people are going to think of CFD as a flashy sales gimmick, others will think it is neat information (and may use it to help set up their aerodynamic balance of their car), and others will think of it like us, a tool we used to track progress vs. an initial model and to better understand the car as a whole. It helped us minimize drag when designing the vane profile. It also helped us find out where to place them to increase downforce a substantial amount. When analyzing Driveway Labs Type 1 rear diffuser with the race upgrade, we found that the two work very well together.

However, I can't blame @tech86 for wanting real world benefits and results. I'd be skeptical as well. I'm sure someone in here will eventually chime in (@glamcem possibly).

Truly though, we greatly appreciate all the feedback. Feedback, both tangible (time) and intangible (feelings) are acceptable for us . If you guys are happy, we're happy. It makes our days when we hear a "the car felt much more stable" or "I used to understeer, now the car just bites" or "we improved lap time by _ amount."

Thanks for all the help guys, their is much more in store .

One thing that you won't see in the numbers is the locked down feel the splitter gives the car and the lack of rear end wiggle/looseness under braking the diffuser provides.

I can definitely tell functional aero parts such as FT86SF Front splitter and Driveway Labs rear diffuser make a big difference in terms of high speed corner stability.. how can you quantify "confidence"?
when you pass ~80-90 mph at a track day the time gap between certain splits/sections are getting smaller and smaller so some people may say "you only shaved about .4 secs here and there" but what they don't realize is you do that safely.. and without worrying about totaling the car in one corner

so yes there's a quantifiable difference but it's really hard to test to see the immediate effects right after putting a front splitter because it takes some time for driver to adopt to the new limits of the car

a good example would be the Ridge Motorsports Park, take a look at the below video, at certain corners in the video (0:28 , 0:56 and 1:28 ) car felt a lot more planted before I had the aero parts but my tires were almost gone so the difference could've been even bigger maybe

[ame="http://youtu.be/D-mPfYoUFns"]http://youtu.be/D-mPfYoUFns[/ame]

and the video before I added the front splitter you will notice there is a 1.2 seconds difference between the two but I had no aero but the tires were in a better condition

^^and this, since I recently changed multiple things on my car instead of addressing one issue at a time ..(because, well ...track days are not that cheap) and instead of testing certain parts and their effectiveness in a more scientific way, before and after test is almost impossible..

but I can say after changing the brakes and tires I was able to improve my times by 4 seconds at ORP !!! it's really hard to say what contributed and what amount but.. I can definitely feel at certain speeds car feels more stable..
