Well nobody kicked my dog, stole my truck, burned down my house nor ranaway with my girl. I was also sober so no country song there.

Guitars can always be the basis of a country song...just replace truck with guitar and you got it covered.

The woman that taught me (well attempted to) taught this dude. She was probably about 500 years old.
All I wanted to learn was some Hendrix or Cream not gospel country!

Hey, if David Lee Roth was able to turn Van Halen rock tunes into country hits then anything is possible, right?

I cannot play while standing.
I have heard I need to do the following...

Play in front of a mirror
Look at the marks on the neck
Work on muscle memory

Any other tips?

I'm almost always standing when I play. Adjust your strap up. Sometimes you see funk bassists with the bass all the way up in their armpit which is nuts on guitar but for electric/acoustic guitar, just raise it up until your arms are comfortable like they would be if you were seated. Low hanging guitars are for once you know how to play well.

Nothing. A while back my 6 year old granddaughter discovered my electric guitar in a dark corner of my office, buried under some old office junk. She said "PA-PA - I didn't know you played a guitar"!

What could I sayyyyy .......

I would think that playing in front of a mirror and working on muscle memory would be counter productive.
Besides trying to watch yourself in a mirror and having everything backwards is going to seriously mess with your brain!

This is correct. There are times when we all look down to get our bearings. It's akin to carrying a full cup of coffee. We MUST look away to let our bodies take over. I still cheat to make sure that I'm level. Guitar and coffee are the same. Slows me down to look.
