Is that normal, even with race pads on track, to wear rotors that quickly with the Wilwood kit?
I have the wilwood kit for the wrx, a lot thinner of a rotor and it doesn't handle heat as well. The pads I had ruined my wheels, the material was unearth like. I didn't have any signs of major wear on my first two track days (Mid-Ohio and Summit Point) but VIR tore them up. The higher speed with the supercharger adds to the effect too.

True, forgot about the supercharger; definitely will beat up those brakes a bit more!

Looks like it might be this way for a few days...

New rotor:

You can see the Carbotech XP-10s:

Wow, rotors went extreme.. sorry about the left and right thing.. didn't have them long enough to notice...
Are you going to do the intercooler for the SC... looks worthwhile.. than at that point I think I would upgrade the brake system..

Keep pluggin..

New rotors: those hats look beefy as poop! Combined weight of the rotor w/ hat?

Yeah, it was Wilwood's mistake when I re-ordered them. The one's you sold me were correct. I'm hoping they will over-night them! I ordered through Scoggin Dikey Parts and they have been great with trying to get this resolved. I plan to run the smaller pulley and intercooler. I probably won't have time until the spring. Should be good enough to gather some lessons learned from others on it. I'm hoping it tucks nicely behind the perrin oil cooler. I might upgrade to the 6 piston Wilwoods down the road. I'm guessing I need more heat capacity and the AP kit is a little too pricey for me these days. I can get a pretty good deal on the Wilwoods where it makes sense compared to the AP/stoptech kits. I'll be running the carbotech xp-10s now so those should be a little more rotor friendly than the Wilwood BP-30s.

The hat's are super light (guessing aluminum). I don't have a scale but according to Wilwood's site the rotor is 9lbs and the hat is 1.4lbs. I'd say that's about right. Yeah the additional power puts a lot more stress on them. I've had the car retuned since you went for a ride. I'm probably making another 20hp now, feels real good. I'm going to upgrade to the intercooler in the spring.

Yeah a 2-piece rotor should have an Al hat. Sounds good! I'll have to get for a passenger test drive once you get the IC. Waiting to see boost plots and all, but it looks promising to running that much more pressure.

Here's my boost plot:

The ambients were a bit higher then now. The car feels a lot quicker now that it's cooled off. I plan to go with the 70mm pulley when I install the intercooler. I'll overlay the graphs when I get down to it. I'm hoping for 255-260whp on 93 and 280 on E85. We'll see, I also need to preserve the OEM clutch for a little bit too. I have too many trips coming up that I'll be spending money on and no time

EDIT @OrbitalEllipses
Here is my log on 93 (if you want to play around with it):

Referring the IC boost plots. The graph Innovate came out with looked a little hard to believe on 91 pump in Cali, but with 3 or more lbs of boost I'd believe it.

Just spent 4 days reading through your build and holy crap man, awesome car. I just have the AEM CAI and should be getting by Greddy EVO 3 tomorrow. Never heard mention of an after market exhaust on your build, you planning on going aftermarket, and have you been to the dyno recently? curious how much power your putting down after the perrin CAI and such.

I plan to do eventually do a Borla cat-back. I'm not a fan of a loud exhaust. It attracts too much attention and am getting too old. I plan to dyno again after I get the intercooler and smaller pulley. Probably in the spring. I'd estimate I'm at about 260whp now on E85 and 235-240whp on 93. The original tune I dynoed on was still very raw and it was 100+ degrees. Car is running much better now.

Small Update
I installed the rotor and the Carbotech XP-10 pads. I bled the brakes properly and took it for a spin. The XP-10s seem like the perfect pad for my street use. They don't bite as hard as the Wilwood BP-30s but are quiet and once they bite down, they have a good amount of torque and stop the car pretty quickly. Very happy with them so far. I didn't have an extensive drive, just enough to bed the brakes in and a short cruise.

Swift996 gotta say your build is great. 250WHP and 200TQ with that TQ curve the SQ kit would make this a super fun DD/AutoX/Track car Saving my money. for this SQ kit.
