Racerender, I am not quite happy with the speedo though (external GPS) so I will try using Race Chrono's OBD2 data for that and since it can merge GPS signal with engine data on the fly..

I originally had a go pro and had nothing but trouble with it. Probably me but the sony action cam is so simple to use. And you can go a whole day on one charge if you remember to turn it off when not on the track. Something I could never do with the go pro.

I'm using CMS lap timer in the nexus 7, in conjunction with an external GPS. This app will also work with better cell phones. It will link with the gps, and turn the camera on when you start moving. And turn off by it's self when you stop.

Steve, Harry's Lap timer's new version is fully integrated with the new GoPro Hero 4 cameras, it starts and stops recording based on your GPS location and travel speed and merges on the app

I think CMS does the same but you need to use the Cell phone for recording (no merging with external video) I might be wrong

I wouldn't know as I haven't tried Harrys. Had enough trouble just getting CMS going. But that's just me.
