You can make a bracket attached to the front crash beam like mishimoto. I have mine secured at the top and to the plastic tray. I suppose you can do the same on a aftermarket crash bar, but you'll have some welding to do.

Wow okay.. That's creative. I think I have enough slack in my lines to lay the oil cooler flat like this. Let me look into this some more. Thanks!

Second thought, mounting the oil cooler facing so close to the ground is a bit dangerous. I remember somebody suggesting this to me when I was bitching about high IAT's after the install. We decided its not worth the risk messing up a lot of people day in an event oil spills on the road. Though I just may cut a hole in one of my front bumpers eventually. Then, it wouldnt matter how hot it got behind the bumper. I'd just have to clean the air filter on a daily basis haha. Something I've been wanting to do since I got the car, but DD. (aka pussed out)

Installing a vent to pull hot radiant air under the car from behind still sound like a good idea with the cooler core mounted vertically or tilted at an angle with some clever ducting.
