Eck, the 2+2 E-type is kind of a dog...
More of a standard 2+2 hatch than a shooting brake IMO...

Pretty much any style of car has been around for a long time...
Shooting brakes were never nearly popular enough.

I'd *love* it if they did a 3-door "shooting brake" FT86 a la clownshoe/Ferrari breadvan!
Proper shooting brake coupe/bread van style would be brilliant, pretty much my ideal 'one car garage.' Practical when you need it to be, sporty when you want it to be.

I don't see how anyone could call the car fugly. Especially compared to the majority of what is sold today.

It has excellent (classically speaking) sports car proportions. That's literally a fact.

It doesn't look like it's on stilts. Or ate it's predecessor. Or is covered in fake vents. Or has a grille that takes up 90% of the front. Or is FWD and just "looks" RWD. All modern styling sins.

It's basically the opposite of a Civic Type R.

Main thing for me is that the 2+2 configuration shoves the rear wheels too far aft. For a "proper" FR sports car, rear wheels are generally just behind the driver. With or without some rear overhang, either way can look good. But the rears should be further forward relative to driver, right behind the doors. Really wish there were a short-wheelbase 2-seat FT86!

Guess which of the above has the more rearward weight distribution!

Only the people that think it looks great can post?

Jeezis, I like that *a lot*!
Toyota played with the idea (although it still had a rear seat) but it died on the vine.

??? I don't see how any reasonable person could take what I said to mean that.

Somewhat better (I think) rendering of the cab-rearward 2-seat BRZ swb I'd like to see. Maybe I'll buy the new one and perform sawzall surgery on my '17

to be fair my intentions were for everyone who didnt think it was so bad looking to list their number at the time of posting, where you're from and when you decided so.

also a bonus but not required was a youtube video of a song that could best describe your new found feelings towards the new brz.

(refer to first post in thread)

thanks

Looks much better - but the front and rear wheels are mismatched.

Its pretty much a n/a 4 cyl supra with a longer wheel base, shorter hood and the cabin a little bit more in the middle.

Original photo is kinda wide-angle, so rears appear elliptical, made more apparent with them moved forward. Anyway makes em more fasterer:

Can’t get the cab more rearward than this. Unless its a Lotus 7.
