I don't have any headphones that are super expensive. Mine are in the $100-200 range.

It's more like going from stock exhaust to an axleback or catback.

Doesn't do anything for actual HP numbers. Car still goes down the road the same. But it's more fun/enjoyable.

Headphones still make sound when you plug them directly into the motherboard obviously, but its more enjoyable through the amp.

The Asgard 2 headphone amp allows the headphones to perform up to their full potential by fully powering them with pure class A goodness.

I honestly wish forza would do this. Show proof of a wrecker and the get banned from online.

This many times over. I had the Dell 34'' curved monitor for a while and it was plain beautiful.

Sold that and bought my Vive though, which I would do again in a heartbeat.

Schiit also offers tube based headphone amps.

I am currently running cloud II for my headphone/mic combo. I wanted to try something different so I ordered a pair of Sennheiser HD 598 SR to try out.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

For the mic I plan to pickup a antlion modmic 5

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MCYRKY3...LWDROWC0&psc=0

and for an mixer/amp I want to try out the astro pro TR. Buddy has one and swears by it.

I'm current running a similar setup.
Modmic 5 and a 558.

Tried that same mixamp and it sounded no better than the front jacks on my computer.

Weather or not you need a stand alone DAC is entirely dependent on how good the on board stuff is.

Most of he time they aren't needed from what I can see.
Nice thing about the modmic is not having to waste money on a headset when you already have good headphones, and the mic is detachable so you can still use them as regular headphones.

Yea coincidentally that same friend will be renting from me for a spell here so I will try his out with my pc vs my onboard stuff before I buy anything.

I have a LG V20 for a phone. It is widely regarded as one of the best audio phones on the market.

You REALLY need an amp on high impedance headphones like the 650s. I definitely needed them on my hd600s. The Schiit headphone amp/DAC combo is a great deal. You are really wasting your $$ if you dont use one with headphones like that.
