On some good news, the system had been in the process of setting up a 40 bed tent in our parking garage because of the spike in cases. They put that on hold this morning because the number of positive results has fallen over the last 10 days.
Huh, it's almost like the partially vaccinated population isn't really statistically significant in the "amount of people in the hospital" category. If only we could have deduced that by some kind of logic and reasoning...

Huh, it's almost like its easy to MMQB something after you have the information instead of not having it.

No idea what you are getting at, beyond what I already said (the partially vaccinated are a very small part of the population here).

The information was there, it just required some basic math and understanding of statistics. IIRC, this was explained here previously. If a small percentage of the population is in a state of partial vaccination and only a small percentage of them show up in a hospital, you aren't likely to skew the statistics by a significant amount including that group in one of the two larger groups.

Yes, just pointing out how this was predicted previously, though I can't seem to find the post to quote. Not to you, I know you know this.

The information was there, but you can't find it?

It was never about skewing any numbers, I wanted to see the actual breakout.

I can't find the post where this was explained. Maybe it's in the other thread. I'm not going to waste time looking for it. As for the information...

As for the information, just search "covid vaccination rate" in Google for all sorts of fun info. Also "covid vaccination efficacy".

Anyway, I'm glad you feel better about the numbers now.

So....

I found out today a close family friend died today after being ill from COVID for 2 weeks. He was someone who was always at family gatherings and spent more time with ours than his own. To the point we all adopted him. He was diabetic and in his upper 60s with several other risk factors. And of course, he wasn't vaccinated.

@weederr33 sorry to hear that, thoughts and prayers with your family.

I think we need to add a "Condolences" button to the forum right now as "thanks" doesn't feel right.

I'm still in disbelief. But when I heard the news I had a feeling he wouldn't make it. But it sucks still.

When you lose someone, the thought that this was preventable is always there. Sorry for the loss.

My father passed on Jan 11 and I think they started vaccinating where he lived a week later.
