Lol no. They give you stats and timings after each "race". I'm the 99.89th percentile in terms of lap times, she is at the other end of the spectrum (like <5th percentile). But she was improving pretty drastically.

The crazy part is there is still a second and a half between me and the top lap times on a 17s lap, which is about the same gap between my wife and I.

The important thing is she has fun, which means it's a lot easier to go back.

got talking to one of the employees at one of those indoor cart track places about that-- was there for a bachelor party with a couple other gearheads that were all running similar lap times, but coming up short by 4-6 seconds off the track record.

he just smiled and said that the lap records usually get set by employees after closing hours when they can fully open up the cars, on warmed up tires, and then they learn to cheat the corner near the line to maximize a single lap time, at the expense of times after that..

Yeah, that was our conclusion as well. There were noticable differences between carts and runs. My friend was 8th fastest for the week, about 0.8 second off the lead. I just want to beat him. He's been to a different place with the same carts 3 times before so I bet I can catch him next time.

First time my wife came out with me and friends, she actually made me work for it. Holy crap! I was truly impressed.

It's a joy to discover a new common interest.

Two days ago I learned that there's a new pizza place in town. The wife surprised me with their Blue Buffalo Pizza. It has a sauce that is not a traditional red tomato base. It had four types of cheese, Murianengo, Gorgonzola, something else and Mozzarella. It was topped with Water Buffalo sausage slices and was it ever gooooooddda! Yum!

Til that "boxes" are a way of describing car layout. A 3 box car is engine, cabin, boot/trunk. A hatch is a 2 box car.
