factory fog light switch near trunk button?
i've been searching for the last hour with every term i can think of, both on the forum, and google, with nothing even close.
i have a '14 brz limited, the turn signal stalk already has the fog light switch on it. however, there is an unused grey connector that was taped up under the dash, next to the trunk release, identical in shape, color, and pinout to the trunk release connector that is for the fog lights. as far as i can tell, absolutely no one knows this harness exists. i connected the trunk button to the harness, and confirmed that it is a secondary fog light switch harness, but the trunk button is a momentary switch, and to properly control fog lights, i would require a latching switch. is there a oem latching-type fog light switch in some catalog somewhere?

It's included as part of the Toyota OEM Fog Light Kit (PT413-18130). FRS have an unused connector in the left compartment that uses the harness. How do I know? I bought and installed the OEM Toyota Kit.
This is all outlined in the PT413-18130 instructions: http://toyotaparts.sparkstoyota.com/...-18130inst.pdf . If you search the above part number in a Toyota Part Site, it will pull up both the kit and the individual components: https://parts.olathetoyota.com/?year...&search_in=all You can buy all the parts separately, but buying the kit itself is way cheaper. Just the two Fog Light housings alone are $300. The kit comes with both housings and all necessary hardware for $250. Why do you want it when your stalk already has it, and your BRZ already has wired up foglight system? |

because i'm weird.
i ordered the double-switch bezel a while back as part of a larger lighting plan that hasn't happened yet, and got a crappy ebay switch that fits in the hole, but until i found the harness, i had no idea there was an oem switch option, which i'd much rather have for my future plans.
