Perhaps read it a few more times. Start with the beginning, and then read through to the end. The beginning is really important. Nowhere was I referencing Hyundai or implying they were Chinese.

Got to see the and drive the new 2021s. New seats are a decent upgrade. The DCT is as good as VWs dsg. Exhaust is not as loud as the 6speed but still sounds good. Overall great package. I was surprised by the decent rear room and I am 6'1"

Back in 2009 i bought one of the first genesis coupes available in my area .. a 2010 2.0T with the 6 speed. Transmission was a little rough on it but had no complaints other than that. The car ended up modded with a bigger turbo and full bolt ons running past que 450whp mark on stock internals and was driven till 90 000km without problems. When the brz came out i wanted it so bad. Parted out the car and sold it to get the brz. What a bad move that was for me. the car wasn't reliable and ended up selling it 7 months later after 2 blown engines, a rear diff and a transmission doing pretty much the same crap that i used to do on the gen. So far i don't think shitting on hyundais is a valid argument anymore. They ve been making reliable cars for a while and since they stole bmw's m division chief their progress rate went through the roof. The N cars are just hilarious fun to drive and don't get me wrong .. the type r is faster on a track but on a daily basis it feels boring when compared to the VN

What happened to your diff? I was always under the impression they are very strong on this car.

Man a rebooted Gen Coupe in the era of N would be epic. Realistically the next RWD N will probably be the mid-engine, RWD one based off the VN.

For anyone interested, I'll be ordering an Elantra N soon after they drop this year. Can't wait to put it up against my buddies 22 Toyota GR86 that he'll be ordering around the same time.

Be sure to post details on how you like it. Not a fan of the elantra's. Rather have Veloster or Kona N

Will do. I'm with you though, I'd actually prefer the VN if it came with heated seats in the US. Instead, the Elantra N gets a much much improved interior with lots of suede/alcantara and heated seats standard. There's also some mechanical improvements like a larger turbocharger exducer, gen 2 of their magnetic ride damping, larger brakes, and wider wheels/tires.

It'll be cool to benchmark both on track. I have lots of data from my BRZ from stock form to SCCA TTT4 form on a track I probably have thousands of laps on. I'll definitely do a track day stock before I throw the hoosiers on it

Did you manage to place an order yet? I am nearing cross roads with what I need/want to do with my twin. Either racecar+ plus truck or new daily+track car into one

Yep! Got a 2022 Hyundai Elantra N in Cyber Gray with the manual transmission. MSRP + free delivery to my house. ~2-3 months wait.

MSRP (with destination) was $32,925, total OTD with tax/title/rego was $35,200.

I'm in a similar boat with yah.

Other than the new 86 there's only a few upcoming cars that I'm interested in....

- Corolla GR (if it actually comes to the US)
- Nissan Z
- WRX STI (though based on the wrx I think subaru is heading in the wrong direction)

I'm most stoked about the Corolla GR, I want something with four doors that's still somewhat fun. The AWD is very appealing to me and between the light front end and the fact that you can transmit up to 70% of power to the rear wheels sounds like a fun recipe.
