And much much more that makes and 86 an 86 that is changed.

Sort of like a movie "based on" a real event can be 95% fiction.

So in non-race use it might have the same range add a first-gen Leaf? Sign me up for the street model!

I just saw this.... and have to ask WHY? Why would you want to make one of these electric? Reminds me of the guy who forked his tongue and tattooed his face green to look like a reptile.... sigh.

My question is why they would bump something over a year old with an old pic and no new info.
Even worse not even bother to try and fix the orientation.

Because EV swaps are a thing?

Because if you're wanting to show off your technology it's convenient to use an already developed package vs also designing your own car to go with it?

Because it's cool to see sporty EVs in smaller packages?

Yeah -it's not super practical (though - assuming the average commuter can charge at home - the range of a Leaf is plenty for day-to-day).

I'm genuinely looking forward to the new Prelude or even better, the rumored Celica. But I could also see getting something like this to park next to my older ICE FRS.

Developing new technology (EV) and being able to compare to the baseline vehicle. GR86 is a good platform and this team also have a ICE setup for endurance racing, so they can have data to compare.

The battery pack and the dry sump to keep battery temps down were nice, 45/55 f/r weight distribution and about 30 minutes of battery. To me seems to be a good start.

They ran 1min 40s on Laguna, and should be able to shave a couple of seconds there with just more seat time.
