Take it from me, although that big grey YOU ARE BANNED screen is traumatising there is a certain element of fun to still be had just watching. Especially watching those that for some reason seem to think you can't see them.

The rules are designed to give a person a reasonable idea of what it takes to get banned. Personally, I see them as speed limits; I can do "x" to whatever point described here before I get banned, until informed otherwise.

But see if this forum works like most we are not the customer at all. We are in fact the merchandise. If the venders and advertisers (the actual customer here) pay based on the number of posts then we, as the posters, become the commodity being traded on. If the post count goes up the advertising value goes up and of course vice versa.


Now, if you are selling potatoes and you find a bad one you throw it out right? If it is still ok but covered in goop you take it away for a bit to clean it up before you put it back with the other potatoes. You do this so that the whole batch of potatoes isn't spoiled by the bad ones or the ones that need to be corrected. The same thing happens with bans and temp bans and it is really just the shop owner maintaining his stock at the best possible quality so that he can sell more and make more money. In our case since we are sentient and speaking potatoes we are curious as to why the others were taken away but the shop keeper really doesn't need to tell us. Of course if the shop keeper starts throwing away to many potatoes or send them all away for washing all the time he will soon have no stock and therefore nothing to offer his customers and they will fade away to shop elsewhere until the shop goes broke and closes. He needs to watch what potatoes he throws out very carefully!


My apologies to any members that may actually be potatoes and were offended by this analogy.
